Idk but canelo's inactivity really cost him a bunch of rounds he would put in about 1 min of work in a 3 min round I easily see how people gave him rounds because he landed heavier shots, just not enough to tip them in his favor, at least in my scorecard
yeah, i had trout winning by a point but had no problem with the decision. too many close rounds and that's one fight even though i had trout ahead, i knew there was no way in hell he was going to get the decision.
chris byrd, former heavy weight champion boxer and amateur boxing champ had it for canelo like 8 round to 4 for canelo. but idk maybe chris byrd "dksab" i had canelo winning easy btw,
..and Foreman said that Canelo can KO Mayweather who can't hurt anybody. They're humans. Fans. Don't suck them.
You don't (or shouldn't) win fights by just throwing more punches like Trout did. Most of the rounds where Trout significantly outthrew Canelo I thought Canelo deserved, because he would slip most of them, land one clean, hard punch, and still manage to dictate the action. I haven't seen it since April, but it seemed pretty clearly either a 7-5 or 8-4 fight, and the knockdown would give Canelo the win even if you gave Trout the benefit of every doubt and gave him 6 rounds.
Thats your opinion, some rounds Canelo literally threw like 10 punches, some of the times he'd dodge most of the punches but get hit with a couple and not throw anything back Was a weird fight
I thought Trout won also, but he had the body language of a loser. Probably because he knew he was down 8-1 after 9 rounds on one of the scorecards :verysad
I had Trout up. If he didn't get KD'ed in the fight, he wouldn't have felt like he lost like he did. The fight was set up for Alvarez to win...all he had to do was make it look close and not get KO'ed. Even if Trout won 8 rounds, he wasn't going to win. It's the same setup Cleverly is getting in England...Kovalev needs to knock him out.
After reading this I'm watching the fight again. I'm sorry, Canelo was masterful and controlled the whole fight! Trout would flick more jabs, but with no purpose, and he stayed outside of punching range while doing so. Canelo would slip and block punches yet keep himself in perfect punching position. I love the end of the 6th, where Trout threw about 20 punches, but Canelo made him look helpless and effortlessly landed 3 or 4 precise counterpunches, and took the round. Canelo boxed beautifully! He looked like Willie Pep in there!
I scored the fight for Trout by a single point, and had no problem at all with a Alvarez win. It was one of those many fights wich shows the 10 Point must system is flawed. The scoring method doesn't necessarily reflect the effectiveness of the boxers in question. It was a close fight in which Canelo did the most damage.
Many of the rounds were similar, so a judge would probably give the rounds to the fighter whose style he prefers. If pitty-pat punches, confused footwork, and boxing on the back foot merely to survive rather than to lead the opponent in is your thing, you would give the fight to Trout. If you appreciate patient use of the ring, more subtle yet effective footwork, inside defence, and well-timed precise but hard punching, you gave the fight to Canelo. I'm mesmerised by the clinic Canelo put on!
