He only has to lose another four pounds, he'll dehydrate 10 pounds the day before the weigh-in. Considering how lean he looks now having to lose an extra 2 pounds will likely affect his already poor stamina though.

Swimming in Maui will do the trick, or he should just give his countryman JCC jr a call, he can shed even more weight inside a single day

He still didn't go through a training camp that required him to make a certain limit within the division's range.

He will pay Mayweather whatever the penalty in the contract is and the fight will go on. One thing I must add, the commission has no involvement in private deals among fighters, as long as both fighters make the limit(148-154) the commission won't suspend or penalize anyone.

Maybe he plans to walk in at 166 then balloon to 186 as his strategy to beat floyd, I suspect he'd still lose,

True Canelo should be at 154 and he usually is. He would be in this fight too if there wasn't an "concern" with team Mayweather about weight.

This fight could be at 154, why isn't it?

Even if Canelo agreed to 152 or offered the 152, why did he have to?

    Thats the question.

Then Mayweather would get a portion of Canelo's purse, that's the only way Floyd would fight Canelo, is by tilting the bout in his favor. But if Canelo comes in at 154 or 153, the bout would still go forward as usual. The LMW limit is 154. The 152 catchweight is just Floyd's way of making it harder for Canelo since he didn't have the balls to fight Canelo straight up.

In reality he only needs to lose maybe 5 pounds. Nobody dehydrates for the 30 day weigh in. Canelo is good at dehydrating so he's on target and it's not unusual for fighters to rehydrate 10+ pounds of water weight.

OR is the reason Canelo has the balls to fight guys naturally smaller than him but don't have the balls to fight guys he should be fighting? Seems like another Donaire to me.

  14. Trout is smaller than Canelo?

Floyd has fought his share of smaller guys as well

    Hatton
    JMM
Guerrero only had like what 3 fights at 147?
Hattons fight with Floyd was his first at 147
JMM he didn't even attempt to make the weight

I'm sure there's others I'm not thinking of

Hatton's fight with Mayweather was his second fight at 147. Also, when Mayweather made his pro debut at 130 lbs., Hatton had been fighting at 140 lbs. for a couple of years already. Mayweather is taller and longer than Hatton, but Hatton was stockier and heavier. Guerrero is actually taller and heavier than Floyd, and had fought his two previous fights at 147. Marquez is the only one that was definitely smaller than Mayweather. He hasn't fought anyone else besides those three that recently came up in weight.
