Campillo was not badly faded at all, in his previous fight he had been robbed against Tavouris Cloud who was at the time the unbeaten world champion.

That win is far superior to anything Cleverly has achieved to date.

Still struggling what to do this weekend. I'm thinking the Brit double will come in ( barker/ clev) but unsure the method, most likely both points but I don't want to lose my bet if one stops and the other doesn't so maybe go doubles there.

Also I'm wondering why enzo is such a big underdog vs Mckenzie? I know he has chin issues but I'm certain he can outbox Ovil - he was last time but got caught then the ridiculous stoppage. People forget Enzo can bang too and that Ovil can be hurt as well, so I'm certain Enzo is going to beat him either by a cleverly boxed decision or catching Ovil with a big one whilst boxing smart. What's everyone else thinking about this fight?

I backed ovil last time but I thought it looked like enzo had Sussed out Mckenzie before being ridiculously stopped. Going for enzo this time round.

Enzo was doing good but then he got hit clean, even though the stoppage was terrible Enzo was gonna go eventually he got hit then just stood there blocking
I cant see him surviving the distance

Not sure, Campillo has a common opponent with Clev (Murat) and the Spaniard struggled with him twice. It's fair that you might say Campillo was not faded when he fought Kovalev but maybe that is because he wasn't much in the first place.

Just think if enzo gets through the first 3 rounds he can outbox Mckenzie and take him out in the later rounds. To be honest the value looks to good to turn down.

It's about styles though isnt it. Clev had a war with Murat and the stoppage was questionable by the way, while Campillo is a boxer and mover. He won both fights by the way. Kovalev would dispose of Murat within 5 rounds im sure. What would you say about Kovalev vs Cleverly then?

I'm going to be posting my picks here. I posted picks on the SBR forum, but the few boxing posters there don't know **** about boxing, and this seems to be the most active thread around dedicated to boxing betting. From what I've seen though too many knowledgeable boxing fans who bet don't seem to know enough about handicapping. Some of the picks here show a misunderstanding of value. It seems many of you bet just to add fun to watching the fights--but I bet to make money! Hope we can share picks and ideas and kill the bookies :)

I use Pinnacle, Bet365, and 5Dimes. Pinnacle has the best odds, but they rarely offer props and put boxing lines up no more than a day before the fight. Bet365 has an amazing selection of fights available, and they're essential for the by decision and by KO props they offer for most fights. I'd rather not use 5Dimes, as they have greater fees and force me to use USD, but all boxing bettors should at least have them available to use occasionally because they offer some fights and props that the British bookies don't. Ladbrokes is crap because they limited me when I won just 45 CAD.

On to this weekend's picks. Sorry for using American odds, I just find they're easier when betting to win a set amount on a favourite...

    Campillo over Fonfara +188 (3u)
    Kovalev over Cleverly -120 (6u)
Geale by DECISION over Barker +120 (4u)

Fonfara just isn't that good. Did you watch his last fight, vs Karpency? I watched that and some of his earlier fights last week. There's amateur videos of lots of his non-televised fights on youtube. He has slow feet, poor head movement, and he lets what should be a good jab get countered pretty easily. Karpency isn't a world-class fighter but he hit Fonfara a lot and it was an even fight till the fight was stopped on an injury. I think Fonfara only looked ok against Johnson because Johnson had nothing left. He's an accurate and pretty hard right-hand puncher and seems like he's improving, but if Campillo at his best shows up I think he wins. I don't think Fonfara can outbox Campillo, and Campillo handled better offensive fighters in Shumenov and Cloud. Sure Campillo is a light puncher who fights on the back foot so close rounds could go to the ineffective aggressor, but as an underdog I'll take a chance that the classier boxer will win convincingly enough that that won't be a an issue.

Kovalev is being misread by too many as just the puncher in this fight, but he is also simply a better boxer than Cleverly. Kovalev throws the more compact punches, and more importantly has better balance, footwork, and mobility. He will close the distance while moving forward and outjab Cleverly for example. Kovalev doesn't overcommit to his punches so won't be too open to get hit, while Cleverly throws wider punches and squares up and can leave himself open when he punches. Cleverly may be more active and even faster but that won't be an advantage against a guy with Kovalev's boxing skill and ability to throw well-timed punches. Cleverly indeed has more experience going the distance, but to win I think he'll have to fight the perfect fight by overwhelming Kovalev with activity while moving away for every minute of all 12 rounds, and I'll be surprised if he's able to do that.

I like Barker's classic boxer-puncher style and think he's one of the top five British fighters pound for pound, but I really like Geale in this fight. Geale and Barker are about equal outside boxers, but Geale will set a hot pace that Barker won't be able to keep up with and then he'll take over on the inside. I see someone played Geale by KO, but this fight is a lock to go the full 12. Geale has just 2 KOs in his last 13 fights!

I got restricted at Ladbrokes after making just 45 CAD in one week! The British books are the most reliable operations, but they only welcome losers! If you want to make money go with offshore books like Pinnacle. Or does anyone have other suggestions for books that aren't so quick to limit? Because Bet365 is my second book and I usually stick to more erratic prop bets and live bets there I haven't made a huge profit so sadly haven't been limited yet.

    And another pick...

    Gonzalez over Segura +110 (2u)

Segura has slow feet, throws wide punches, and was taken apart by Edgar Sosa in his last fight with straight punching and basic but smart boxing. Gonzalez has a nice technical foundation like Sosa and also better hand and foot speed so I'm going with him to win. But this being his first step up I'm not too confident he has the smarts or durability to beat someone as experienced and relentless as Segura, so it will just be a medium play.

Plus a 6-team parlay that I think has a decent chance...

    SZPILKA (-350)/CAMPILLO (+162)/KOVALEV (-110)/ROMERO (-500)/GEALE (-200)/GONZALEZ (+110) +2335 (1u)

I see where you're coming from but I don't recall ever seeing Enzo box smart before.

That said, he does look to be good value at the price offered.
