Arreola is not in great shape, he just isn't quite as fat as he normally is. Even early on as a pro at 225 the guy was a fat blob. Get serious people, this is a guy who weighed well below 190 in the ams, around 210 at most is a good in shape weight for Arreola.
That's the thing. His diet was probably so shitty before that all he had to do was eat better and actually train and the weight just fell off. As I said before, he looks like he's 230-235 right now and he can only benefit from being in better shape...especially considering that, at one point, he was primarily known for his workrate.
He looks in really good shape but has he really done anything at all sincelosing to Kilts? Havent we ALWAYS talked about he getting in better shape. Dude is exciting and thats about it.
Arreola can be a dangerous opponent if he trains properly. He can beat Mitchel....................could have beaten Stiverne if he had trained properly, plus, a lucky punch broke his nose, so he couldn't breathe well, yet he still had Stiverne on the ropes hurt, just did not have the stamina to put him away. Vitali will knock him out, then I hope he fights Wilder with a huge knockout, then he can retire.
Anyone who can punch a little and is likely to bring it to Mitchell without fear is dangerous for him, in light of what happened in Banks I - even Arreola with his clubbing power. That's regardless of his weight, however. He is no more or less dangerous "in shape" or at his most bloated. In more general terms, as in a dangerous HW contender - no, he isn't...again, in shape or not. He simply can't box. Clubbing power and solid whiskers aren't enough at the highest level, and he doesn't have anything else. (and don't listen to any of these delusional hangers on who insist he was a twinkle-toed amateur or point to his early pro career as evidence of some long-buried set of skills he piled over with years of excessive snacking, like he was Odlanier Solis or something...he never had the fundamental technical basis needed to excel at HW in the pros...)
completely agree, heavy or lighter his technique really never changes. He matches up well with guys that cant outmaneuver him though. He still needs to lose weight though, show some respect to the sport.
Definitely. 250's and 260's, that was a disgraceful period. :verysad He shouldn't attempt to dip below 220, though, or we could see the "Chambers effect".
