I'm amazed that people are saying maidana is like Demarco. maidana is much better and hits much harder.

Both are slow both are limited both come forward with no jab and no defense. Not the same but close enough. Both of which are tailor made for Broner due to their styles and attributes. Broner eats up come forward slow guys for lunch just like Mosley did and just like Pac does.:deal Put them in with guys who will box move and have defense and none will look good.

 

Maidana does use a jab now to set up his power shots, which are often a lot straighter now. Defense isn't his best attribute and never will be but broner might not have the Punch resistance or heart of a Maidana, we don't know yet.

Broner himself isn't a bad match up for Maidana though either,in the sense that broner doesn't exactly run, he 100% dosen't hold and clinch like Devon did.

Both fighters don't like movers and boxers, Broner will be there to hit (Turtles up well but doesn't run away, body gets exposed) but the question is will maidana be able to land enough good shots, speed of punches could be the ultimate difference but Maidana has a better chance than Demarco i would say.

So while i agree that maidana is a good style match up for broner (Broner will land shots, no doubt whatsoever), i'm shocked that others don't think Maidana will like the fact that Broner dosen't run or hold. (and possibly isn't a big hitter at 147)

I'm giving maidana more chance than most, i'll be really impressed if Broner beats him easily or stops him. If i'm wrong i'll admit it Ha.

(without 100% negative tactics like Devon did, and Broner doesn't fight anything like Devon so i don't expect he will)

Broner does not move, his footwork is awful !!!
He will shell up and try to counter Maidana, so he best hope he has the pop to discourage Maidana.

He's similar to the fact that he eats come forward guys for lunch he he beat these type because he has faster hand speed better reflexes and throws combos against them. Just like Mosley and Pac do. Maidana isn't going to find it easy to land on Broner consistantly Broner has good defense it's not PBF good but better than just about anyone in at 147. Broner also can fight on the inside very well he mixes up his attack from head to body good. I expect him to be first all night long and win most of the exchanges with Maidana.

Paulie was always going to give Broner problems I said it when the fight was signed. People expected Broner to walk right through Paulie were crazy. They think that just because the guy can't punch Broner should dominate him. They fail to realize that Pauile is smart works behind a jab moves and is tough as they come.

 

The rest of your post is on the money, BUT the fact remains that Hatton and Khan dominated Paulie. Broner had the opportunity to make a statement by stopping Paulie, but he was unable to pull the trigger, WHY ?

Good analysis. Paulie boxes cleverly and has good footwork and handspeed.

Maidana has a puncher's chance to against Broner, but he's much too easy to hit for my liking.
