Cleverley had no clue what to do once he was hurt. Waving someone in and taunting someone when your getting it put on you isn't the best idea. On a side note how that match was allowed to carry on after Clev got carried back to his corner at the end of round 3 is beyond me.
It was man against boy. I was really surprised how controlled Kovalev was, his boxing and attitude were brilliant. He removed any offensive capacity from Cleverly really quickly and then he steps up the attacks in the third like he normally does and it's game over. I did not think it would be quite so easy. Kovalev is for real and despite being a beast in the ring, the guy seems to be quite amiable too. His jab was excellent and he's very strong at the weight. :good
I thought the fight was over... did he not get saved before the bell rang and carried back to the corner? Then he sat on his stool and came out for the fourth round?
One thing you have to look at regarding Cleverly as well is that he was going into his sixth title defence yet he has never once fought a world champion or a former world champion as far as I'm aware and he has yet to fight a top 10 contender as well. I know some people may mention Bellew as a top 10 contender but personally I'm nt convinced of that and he certainly wasn't at the time.
