Khan asked or prescott? Amir khan? I doubt that khan had heard of some unknown Columbian banger, never mind ask to fight him...

Agree needs to retire, not world level and apart from a rematch with the big punching bellew:lol: nothing at domestic level to go into a hard camp for.

    Retire.

His new coach at the time supposedly suggested Prescott and khan went along

Same as before as Super Darren Barker won the IBF World Middleweight championship last night. He is a great guy as well.

Abysmal match making i agree. It wasn't for a belt or anything. Struggling to think of a more pointless matchup

Knew after 30 seconds that this guy was going to win

not so sure if this fight was Abysmal match making or ALL of Clevs fights up to this point. he had no bussiness in the ring with Kov.

Really? Surely this, or something similar, was inevitable...and overdue.

If Kovalev had a belt I wouldn't say t was abysmal match making as it would be a unification. But what did he stand to gain from this fight.

One thing that startled me is that he just looked so weak.

How about HBO behind you and the world at your feet!
    Is that not reason enough?

    Retire? Are you sure?

He's still young and will have opportunities as an ex. champ that people will probably feel was over-rated up to now. Someone will see that as a good defence they can get paid for. A couple of confidence builders and he'll get another shot.

There really is some nonsense spouted on here.

How was it bad matchmaking, Kovalev brought over big backing by HBO, if Nathan won then this was the gateway to the big big money fights, dont see how you can criticise it really he had to step up eventually because the likes of BHOP were not going to fight him if all he was doing was beating cans, it was the right fight its just Clev was exposed by the better man thats not Dean or Frank ******'s fault

Well why are you protecting yours so much? Or is Riky not asking for big fights?

If he does step down from world level, or retires, at least he's got his education. I'm not sure if it's ever mentioned, but he's got a maths degree. Ok maybe it's been mentioned once or twice / a thousand times.

Why is it people say he should retire after one loss against a giant of an opponent??
Cleverly can have many other fights such as Bute, Dawson or Pascal, all of which would be a huge selling fight.....Forgot all this nonsense about bad-matchmaking aswell because if he had have fought a weaker opponent most people would have said "Clev fighting another bum",,, he cant win!!!! Anyway i think Kovalev cleans up this division, he looks likes a cruiserweight.
Will Clev fight Maccarinelli next ?
