Boxing is a better sport by far, but MMA is better organised. Abolish promoters and form a unified pro boxing association and its boxing by KO1
MMA is for me. I mean in the UFC when you see the Weigh-ins, Interviews, Press conferences it just all around better and organised and the lead up to fights is way better.
As a former boxer trying to get into MMA i would say MMA is better. Fighters usually bring everything to the fight, are not so worried about there 'o's and there are more then a few ways to gain a victory. Also like the way that the UFC score fights.
They both have their ups and downs. MMA has been pretty **** lately, but last nights card was good. Boxing on the other hand has looked really good this year. I consider myself an avid fan of both, also a huge kickboxing fan.
Why does one have to be "better" than the other? This is trolling. Both sports are great in their own ways. Nothing good can usually come of making a pissing contest out of separate combat sports. Boxing has a very long tradition and a lot of epic history. MMA is a more complete representation of individual unarmed combat, though still quite limited. Boxing is a more refined and sharpened art. MMA is a combination of multiple sharpened arts that tends to leave a fighter with sharper areas to an overall larger, yet duller blade.
