yes, but to say that geale clearly won the round is erroneous. if barker were to be outlanded by twice as many punches you could make a case for geale bieng robbed of the round.
Dont have a problem with the 12th being scored for Geale, just dont see where somebody can complain that 2 judges scored it for Barker. I thought alot of Geale's shots in that round were dragging and void of snap. Again, not all as he did hurt Barker, but a good ammount of his connects in comparison to Barkers I did'nt see the leverage and snap behind them.
Went to IB's RBR and saw that 8 out of 8 people gave Geale the last round. I know it's a small sample size, but the guys doing the RBR's usually (usually) score a fight pretty well. I go way back to my first post saying I had no horse in the race so I didn't care who won, but if you thought Barker won the last round you are clearly in the minority on ESB.
what great heart by both fighters last night but you could tell barker would not be denied. that body shot was brutal and he got up to win. this is what makes boxing different from any other sport. it was an honor to be a boxing fan last night.
i dont think that many people here are disagreeing with you on the 12th round. the only disagreement is that this is boxing and arguing about how geale unequivocally won the 12th round by outlanding barker by a total of 4 punches and how there is now way that it should have happened is pretty funny to those of us that gamble on boxing.
A. I gamble on boxing. B. The point of my post was to argue my merits on why "Geale Unequivocally won the 12th round." I mean you're right, it doesn't matter, just saying I don't think you should be surprised I'm trying to argue the 12th round in a post I was shocked two judges gave Barker the 12th round. Though let me be clear, not trying to be a pompous ass or anything, just enjoying the back and forth, but take no offense to anyone who disagrees or whatever. Just feels that needs to be made clear during ESB "arguments" sometimes.
Geale snapped Barker's head back a good few times in that round Barker did start coming back but it was mostly blocked It was a close fight that coulda gone either way it just happened to be that 12th round determined the outcome and it was scored wrongly, Barker fans are arguing that he won the 12th so the win seems legit but either way any man coulda won
Very true....some difficult rds to score but the final rd was not Barker...IMO:smoke I had Barker winning the fight 115/112:yep It could have swung either way and I would not complain as I am not an expert
I also had Geale by one point, but knew it was close enough to go the other way. Plus, I had money on Geale, so I knew I might be favoring Geale a little in my scoring. But yeah, I had Geale winning the last round.
