he was getting his ass outboxed by hassan Ndam Njikam and fernando guerraro had some big moments against him. Both of these 2 are more disciplined then the later, they'd break him down mentally and win a UD.

think i seen bits of the Ndam fight he put him down a few times with clubbin shot while laying on the ropes trying to shoulder roll if that is the right fight

in the middelweight div we got golovkin and martinez, two guys that are quality and could have fought with the best in any era. Martinez is on the slide now but still

Geale is an awkward fighter, but a good one. Barker summed it up when he stated how much harder it was to face Geale in the ring comparing to watching him on TV.

Nonetheless, both are solid fighters. Geale beat Sylvester, Sturm, rematched his only loss and won. Barker gave Martinez a stiff test, won the European title, now beat Geale.

I've complained about world title fights myself in the past, but this isn't one to get upset about.

:good Boxing needs fans not hecklers. If they keep dissing the sport, casual fans won't be interested in dishing out the cash to watch.

Seeing Barker get up off the canvas from a liver shot and go on to win was impressive as Hell IMO. I feel I got my money's worth last night :bbb:yep

The most glorified american middleweight james toney was also the most overrated one.

james toney is my all time favourite fighter i think his brilliance he showed in his fights and his skill set blinds some people from the struggles he had and loses to mediocre fighters.

but roy jones but him straight still cant watch that fight

    Boxing is doing great.

HW has been dreadful for a decade, but look at all of the awesome fighters that come out in the last few years. We have an amazing overall crop of talent and new guys are developing that have promise in the meantime.

As a fan of boxing history, I don't let nostalgia get the best of me and make me think that what currently is available is not up to par. HW is the only exception.

Nostalgia doesn't come in to it.

Ill ask you this if you was a coach would you tell one of your boxers to go study barker or Geale.

Are you not reading what Im saying?

It was an ABC title fight, but NOBODY regards them as number one/2/3/4 or even 5 in the division so why are you complaining this much?

GGG, Martinez are both very good fighters that would have certainly given other fighters in different eras a good fight. GGG is simply better than Taylor, Pavlik and who knows how the Hopkins fight would have played out.

Before Hopkins it was the whole RJJ and Toney era. In fact, Toney struggled to make weihgt so much so that he was nowhere near elite level when facing some guys. GGG, Quillin and ***y could have beaten him if Tiberi almost did.

Looking at current divisions in boxing world right now, its plain to see that the sport is experiencing a shift in the new era of fighters and the future looks very promising and exciting.

And Iran barkley would get knocked out by GGG, outschooled and beaten by Sergio and Quillin.

Barker vs Barkley would have been an even fight

It's quite obvious that you don't know what a journeyman is.
