Cleverly considering retirement

Hardly - he's obviously crestfallen (who wouldn't be?) and he's been prompted with a consequential question: retire or continue? The guy has options and he's weighing them up. Why is that arrogant? It's prudent - it's what prudent people tend to do when the **** hits the proverbial fan.

Obviously he's a clever guy, but I doubt any job he does will make the same money as boxing. Unfortunately I don't think he has the punching power required at Light Heavy. He mentioned he might change weight, Would like to see if he could make SMW. If I was personally him though, I'd move to Eddie Hearn and he'll get the bigger fights and more money will come. With his punching power he's like a bigger version of Paulie Malignaggi.

 

He's probably got better options than most 'peasants'.

 

yeah and again the difference is seen & tasted by 'actual' fighters from many of today's softies... too tough, I don't want it, I don't have to take anymore of that.

I don't blame them, I wouldn't either, but again the make up & mettle of past vs present fighters is witnessed far too often... and clowns still want to say they are just as good and better.

Cleverly has spoken of life outside the sport from quite early. He seemed to want to get in and get out of the sport in quite a short space of time.

I think it would be sad to see him just jack it in but only he knows what he wants in his heart and mind. End of the day that loss was conclusive and some guys don't want to play second fiddle. They want to be the best and if they aren't they rather not dance for second.

If he truly doesn't have the hunger for it then he may as well jack it in. It's a dangerous game and maybe Kovalev's punched the fight out of him. I think he can still operate with some of the champions like Shumenov but for the others he'd need to improve defensively.

He like Khan and Haye have set limits on there career but i think out of the 3 he's the guy who could keep his promise.

If you watch his entrance he looked really pumped up, I've seen an interview from last year were he said he doesn't feel loved by the Welsh like Joe was. But on Saturday he had a full arena of fans chanting his name.

Now he's tasted that, if he can't have it again - maybe he just won't be able to get up for fights in London in front of 3,000 of another fighters fans. It'd be hard.

Cant blame the guy,he's probably made a few quid,is a smart guy so has stuff to fall back on,and he obvioudly realises now he will never be a top level fighter..
