Apparently Hopkins always wanted to fight him only to see Kovalev pick on Cleverly instead. A simple copy/paste of the thread title in Google and you should get a link explaining all.

    ----

To Kovalev fans and certain ******s like that alt clown "KOKing" or whatever that ******'s username is, prepare your asses when this fight happens and prepare 20 different alts(if you don't have enough already) while you're at it. :hi: I'll be seriously shocked if Kovalev takes this fight especially after Hopkins' long explanation of what has been going on that maybe newbies here know nothing about. Again, a simple copy/paste of the thread title in Google should give you some good links to look into.

I kept telling all those foreigner loving fools that their new hope ducked Hopkins for Cleverly.

He did, the fast and easy route towards a belt.
But let's see if B-Hop takes the challenge if Kovalev wants to unify, cause I'm pretty sure even Hopkins can't stop him.

hopkins doesn't have to stop him to win.

One doesn't have to score a KO in boxing to win a bout...in case you didn't know.:hi:

Won't happen because Kovalev will be under contract with HBO and they don't do business with Golden Boy.

Hopkins has a belt too and a clearly bigger name. Hopkins already offered the challenge but was declined for Cleverly. :deal

I know... But that doesn't change my assumption he's currently the better fighter, and would probably be the first to stop B-Hop if they ever fight.
I like Hopkins (he actually grew on me), but he won't be able to beat a guy like Kovalev at this age.

I doubt Kovalev is the type of guy to not want to unify his title and not fight B-Hop. Especially after his last fight, his handlers will be more than confident that he can beat Hopkins.
The fight will be made eventually

Instead of just talk - why doesn't Hopkins offer a fight? Then we'll see...

Hopkins full of confidence after outpointing the mighty Tavoris Cloud.

Reminds me of when Quillin ran his mouth about Golovkin knowing damn well the fight won't happen.

wtf is he talking about, he had to fight Murat, Kovalev-White was only named an eliminator after Murat didn't get a visa to the US, but then the fight was back on

btw, B-hop would do himself better if he avoided Kovalev

And you think B hop doesn't know this. He is calling out a guy he knows he won't have to fight. Very smart, he is a partner at GBP, he knows that showtime does not want Kovalev on their network. Kovalev can't say much in return, what is he going to say, " I want to fight Bernard but HBO won't let me". He has no choice but to suck it up and act like everything is cool. If you notice, HBO or Showtime never talk about the fact that they won't work together. It is unspoken and if you do talk about it, you won't get time on either network.

Fighting Cloud after he had been schooled and gifted against Campillo (who went on to get demolished in 3 by Kovalev) was the safest road to a belt. Hopkins is talking rubbish.
