    :deal

If they want a big audience he should rematch Geale - Aussie / Eng thing would do good numbers in an arena - O2 at a push.

Murray at the MEN ? but Barker should'nt give home adv away unless it was a unification. Macklin hasnt got a fanbase unless he plays the Irish card against England?

The fight against Geale was an outstanding performance, but was that the zenith of his career? He has achieved his aim brilliantly....would he get up again from another body shot like that?I think most of the fights we would like to see are fifty fifty....the lad has paid his dues to some extent I hope he takes the easiest fight for the most money after Sat he has nothing to prove.

A rematch with Geale in UK that coincides with the Ashes in Aus might sell well.

They should put the Froch/Kessler hype machine back in gear and start telling everybody with a Sky Sports subscription that Barker/Geale was Gatti/Ward and then do it again at the O2. You could even have it leading into the start of play during a test down under if you did it straight away.

The only way I could see him filling Stamford Bridge would be if he had a few more defences against the likes of Geale/Murray/Macklin/Sturm and then fought GGG for the 'p4p Championship of the world'.

Throw him in with Andy Lee at Madison Square Gardens... Lee has a good Irish following in the States which would do well for ticket sales and the extra coverage with American T.V.......If he wins that it may set up a big pay-day fight against Chavez...MAYBE.
Biggest seller on English shores would be the Murray fight in Manchester.

I understand what people are saying here but his contractual obligations with Shaw and his significant pull with the IBF, the rematch clause and the sell ability of the rematch it'll happen after Sturm. Then if he gets past these two, he can start thinking about Murray, Macklin, Lee. He'll be we'll paid for Sturm and a Geale rematch so all is not lost.

Not gonna happen for a world title.
Would have to an American or Geale involved for that to work.
Doubt it even with that in mind, with all the injuries and pullouts with the super 6 I can't really see them revisiting that format anytime soon.

Thats Bollix he is a champ because he has just won a world title, even if he fights bums he will still be and always will have been a champion, also why does he have to give Geale a rematch, he won fair and square in a close fight, but why does every close fight have to have a rematch not like Barker got a lucky decision he won fair, if a rematch doesnt make the financial sense or their is a better fight offered then i see no problem in not giving Geale the rematch

Could Barker even half fill a stadium?

Apart from people who follow boxing as more than a casual fan, nobody knows who he is.

why is everyone obsessed over stadium fights? They always seem to be ****, with a poor atmosphere and views that need binoculars for half the people there. Put on a good London based card in the 02, few famous faces ringside etc and Barker would get some mainstream recognition.
