I agree but do think Vernon would smoke alot of the division today and give Mayweather more problems than 90% of the foes he's faced. Vernon made his name off having Mosley's number. His first defense he comes out rapping and dancing and Mayorga blasts him. But Mayorga was no joke at that stage and he to beats most of the division today.

I agree he wouldent beat Mayweather .

He would have no chance in hell of beating Mayweather , because in order for that to happen Mayweather himself will have to be willing to get into the ring with him and we all know he will do everything in his power to avoid that from happening .

a 36 year old Floyd loses BADLY to a PRIME Forrest .

    I agree . He beats everyone .

I also agree on Matthysse being an intriguing opponent, He has the power to trouble Forrest def , but he cant go in there with Just heavy hands and think hes going to get the W solely on that . Lets see how he continues to grow in a year or two .

Forrest loss to a lesser fighter like Mayorga twice so how is he going to be undefeated in this era if he wasn't undefeated in his own?

Its called boxing , anything can happen at any time . All the greats lose .

Mayorga although not highly skilled , was a Hard puncher and explosive with inhuman endurance at that time .

I would not go that far .

Pacquiao/Forrest would have been an interesting fight . but No one is destroying one another IMO .

  10. Nah I just think you're trying to put this era down for whatever reason, I also don't think Mayorga would stand out in this era. There's some very good boxers in this era, that's something Mayorga was not. Power can only get you so far until you get exposed which happened to Mayorga in his own era.

this era is NOWHERE near that era as per skill and exciting fighters. My god, you had Tito, oscar, Tsyu, Mosley, Vargas, Mayorga - those alone would dominate this era including 2-3 of them beating mayweather in their primes. Mayweather has never fought monsters like prime, Mosley, Tito or Oscar, let alone Vargas. He's skating through a much weaker era with the likes of guys like Guerro and Canelo, of course he's undefeated! lol

Oscar had bigger fights to tend to. Vernon never had a big name, even after beating mosley and besides he lost to Mayorga in his first defense and fell into obscurity pretty fast after 2 losses to him.
Oscar would have outboxed Forrest, he was too smart for him and ring savvy. Vernon was a bit wild and Oscar easily would have capitalized as he did against the super wild mayorga. Nobody trashed Mayorga as easily as Oscar did. Yes Mayorga was off prime, but so was Oscar.

I kind of agree with Forrest on the second Mayorga fight- he clearly won that IMO.

Maybe you don't agree with my analogy but the truth is, with the exception of 1 or 2 guys, Mayorga gave everyone he fought a lot of trouble with his awkward style. Not that it matters, but I felt Vernon edged the second fight.

But for the guy I originally replied to saying that Forrest would get whipped by Pacquiao, no man. No f'ing way.
