Mares is clearly a PFP type fighter that lost. It happens when you take on all comers. Mares has the skills and will be back on the list with 2-3 more fights.

Props to Jhonny Gonzalez I knew he would be a tougher fight than Ponce DeLeon
but definitely did not expect that outcome.

  2. I can see that he COULD be p4p material. But placing him at 5? Above Sergio Pac Bradley Saul? I don't see it

    Sergio?

I don't mind if Mares is removed from top 10 with this loss, but having Martinez on there is a ****en joke. Dudes overrated to shiiiit

  4. Now yes, Sergio's body is breaking down on him. You can't say his skill isn't there though.

If he was a couple years younger and didn't get severely injured in every fight he would be a threat to anyone at 160. I'd still favor GGG over him though

If? That's like me saying well if Mares had a Margarito type chin he woulda gotten up and would've knocked Johnny tha fawk out. Martinez has no business in the top 10 p4p

before tonight, Mares was undefeated and beat Darch. Abegko, Moreno, Morel and Ponce all spanning 3 different divisions.

Pacquiao is 1-2 in his last 3 fights and Bradley doesn't have as good of a resume even though Bradley is one of my favorite fighters. And Canelo is nowhere near Mares's resume

Ridiculous. He clearly deserved to be top 10 - this loss doesn't somehow erase his previous performances.

Mares will bounce back. He's a tough fighter. **** happens and it wasn't too soon to put him in pfp list. He earned that spot. Broner doesn't deserve to be in the pfp list, period. He's a protected hype.

  10. I think Mares is handling this loss better than you are *****

Really, low blowing your way to a win and getting a gift draw earns you p4p now? Please with your horse****.

You mean where he was low blowing his way to victories? I did not know that was top 10 material...

Mares fought the best possible opponents from 118 to 126. He just fought another quality opponent who caught him with the perfect left hook. If your consistently fighting the best then you've got to accept that sooner or later you will lose.

All those low-blows against Moreno, Morel, Darchinyan, de Leon and in the Agbeko rematch?
