What other fight is there for Rigo? Donaire doesn't want a rematch, and Mares just lost, and probably isn't ready to jump in the ring with a guy like Rigo right away.

What is the problem with Rigo going up 4 damn lbs, in a division that didn't even exist before the late 1970s. In earlier times, he had to fight at either 118 or 126.

So what is the problem with him fighting 4 lbs up against a guy that is trained by Nacho and could make for a very interesting fight.

Sure, Rigo would be favored, but Gonzales offers problems that Rigo has not PROVED in the pros that he can overcome.

Don't you get tired of speculating on what fighters can do? Wouldn't you rather see them do it? What happened to rivalries and scintillating fights? Why do you need fighters to be perfectly matched up.

What's one of the most interesting fights in the near future? Matthysse vs Garcia. And why? Because of the matchup.

Gonzales vs Rigo will not be on that level of excitement, but Gonzales' height, boxing IQ, technique, and punching power make this interesting. Add to the fact that he's trained by the best coach in boxing today, and you got a great match up.

Why wouldn't fans want this? Weren't fans calling for Mares vs Rigo? Well, why not against the guy that defeated Mares?

 

Rigo would stink out the joint even worse than he did against Donaire. He might actually trip over his own feet running from one corner to the other. Gonzalez would need to train for a chase, not a boxing match.

Who wins? I don't know. Who loses? The fans.

It makes no sense to me either, but apparently people root for their favorite boxers to be inactive now? :think It almost seems like these other "fans" of his would rather not see him fight and may've just jumped on the bandwagon because they dislike Donaire.

I literally can't think of another reason why "fans" would prefer he stay inactive rather than doing what he can to make a fight with Gonzalez.

 

That's a ***** move cause there are fighters in his division that is ready for his ass. He's reaching down instead of reaching up. Why not give Gary Russell a shot.

I didn't even know what that acronym meant until I realized I'd said the full version out loud to myself when I read his post, too.

Anywho, Hozumi Hasegawa's also on the comeback trail and is targeting Rigondeaux. I hope one of these fights gets lined up.
