The truth of the matter is this...... Even if Canelo beats Floyd Mayweather theres no possible way that Canelo could even become one half the PPV star mayweather is with the exception of a rematch fight.

Furthermore.... Canelo won't have the same longevity as floyd. This guy can't have more than 1-2 more fights at 154. He's currently 23 and already having a hard time making 154 (let alone 152 or whatever the catch weight is). Once he gets to 160 theres no way he's surviving Martinez, GGG, Quillin, JCC JR.... I don't even think Canelo would even be able to survive Hassan N'Jkam or Gabe Rosado. Although Gabe vs Canelo would be a fun ass fight....

They would have to hide canelo the same way they hid pavlik for a good 4 or 5 fights until they through him vs some real competition only to see him get torn up....

anyways what do you think.... as much as ODLH hates floyd i think he wants floyd to win becuase he knows who the real cash cow in boxing is and i'm sure he sees a good amount of money from Floyd fights... being that GBP helps organize

what makes you think that ? Canelo couldn't consistently push million PPV buys and even if he could how long do you think this guy is going to be relevant for? He's good but he's not that good.

GGG would decapitate him and so would ***y sergio

Its win/win for the Golden Boy, a great promoter will manage to make the best of whoever wins. Inferior promoters are the ones who blame fighters :yep for their short comings

Considering mayweather doesn't work for GB and is 36 about to retire soon. He wants his fighter canelo to beat mayweather, the first fighter to do it. This would Catapult canelo to instant ppv star he wants to be. Once he has that GB would do what they do best, feed canelo blown up welterweights and hand selected opponents. They will make a killing off canelo, why you would think otherwise is beyond me. Canelo wins, sets up a even bigger ppv rematch, mayweather wins and he fights someone else next.

Honestly not many Americans are gonna get behind Canelo and support him by buying his ppv...and his Mexican fan base will not generate million dollar ppv events, there's no doubt he will have okay sales but how long will that last, because I don't see the talent in him to keep him on top for more than a fight or two...what I really want to see is Canelo face a real jmw/middleweight puncher with a chin, then we will see how good he actually is..

There is no Guarantee canelo will be a mega ppv star even if he beats mayweather. GB have been grooming him to be one since he was 19, canelo is the future. Even if he can't generate big ppv numbers he still does over a mill views on showtime and before hbo which equals ratings. Oscar deep down wants mayweather to lose, he wants canelo or anyone to beat him. If canelo does, it sets him up for big things.

How good canelo is doesn't matter, I'm sure he will lose his 0 if not by mayweather but someone. Oscar wants him to beat mayweather.

Does showtime CBS want mayweather to lose, hell no they don't. They have too much money invested into mayweather to have him lose.

Anything is possible, did you see the scores in canelo vs trout in Texas. I'm not saying canelo didn't win, but it was closer they how they had it.

Why does ODLH hate Mayweather considering he brings in so much money for him?

I see your point and it could be correct but I doubt it.
Oscar does not hate Floyd, they are friends and partners in huge money deals. The hate between them is marketing, it is not real. I would bet my last dollar that they both have each other on speed dial.
Oscar should want Alvarez to win because he is younger and over the next 10 years he will still be fighting if GBP can keep him safe from heavy hitters.
It is not a stupid question though, just a little far fetched, but possible.

    Oscar always roots against Mayweather.

Canelito could be 43 and Oscar would still cross his fingers that he'd win.
