Who is the worst boxing commentator?

There aren't really any bad announcers as far as I've seen. If anything some are aggravating. If I had to pick, Lampley and Atlas. They aren't bad, just annoying.

I love Ranallo. He put the "umph" in Gonzalez's stoppage of Mares. He gave that ko meaning.

 

Translation: "He doesn't like Mayweather."

It's amazing you never noticed that Larry often says that Roy Jones is the greatest fighter of the last 20 years, and that he gushes over Broner after all his fights.

 

Alright IB, you leave LM out of this. He's a friggin legend, plus his microphone doubles as a whiskey flask!

 

I was a big RJJ fan back in the day but he's terrible as a commentator. I often find myself waiting for him to make sense and all he ends up doing is distracting me from the action.

It would be awkward for HBO to fire him at this point but I think it would be better if he shared duties with someone....besides Kellerman. Ward and Garcia are both excellent so let's hope that HBO gives them a little more experience behind the mic broadcasting big fights.

 

I remember RJJ not being able to tell the K'Bros apart. You know all white people look the same. :-(
