Has anyone been to one of these boxing dinner shows and if so what did you make of it. I went to the Joe Calzaghe one last year at the Hilton in Glasgow and am toying with the idea of going to one with Evander Holyfield next month. Really enjoyed the one with Joe although would have liked a bit more in depth speech with some more stories thrown in. Can be a bit pricey but a few beers and a 3 course meal whilst listening to a boxer tell their story is a pretty enjoyable night in my book.
Haven't been to one but read the review of the Calzaghe/Jones night by a fellow poster on here at a hotel in Motherwell and Calzaghe sounded like a complete knob.
Calzaghe was a proper nob. Refused to sign anything and he was off his tits, kept popping to the toilets to powder his nose. Then he disappeared into the night with some young bird after sleazing all over her, it was quite embarrassing but I suppose he got his hole! Roy jones was a complete gentleman.
When a met Joe at the Glasgow one (minus Roy Jones) he seemed relaxed although didn't speak for as long as I would have liked. However he came across well and when a got a pic with him a mentioned a had been to his fights against Manfredo and Kessler and he laughed and said am sure the Kessler one was just a bit better. Disappointing to here how he was at the Motherwell show.
