Whenever the other guy is a name that's been in with the best and you're a 31 year old up-and-commer with a paper championship. I like GGG, but he aint done **** to be talkin like he's one of the best in the game. He's at Curtis Steven's level right now. He needs to shut his trainer up, win his fights fast and put himself in a position where the top guys have to fight him. He aint there yet and he's not young.

What does it say about those who refuses to fight GGG (Quillin, Geale, Barker, Murray etc.) What's their level?

No he's not. Stevens hasn't beaten anybody as good as Macklin or even Proksa. The closest he got to a world title was an eliminator in which he got dominated by Jesse Brinkley.

GGG did short work of a guy that gave Martinez problems and lasted 11 rds. That guy went on to say that GGG is better than Martinez.

    Wake up.

Douche face, he's at the level to be fighting guys like Stevens and not acting like he's an ATG already. I didn't say their resume's are the same.

I'm sorry you're an idiot. Life must be hard for you. :verysad

GGG is the A side with a belt. He's on HBO regardless of Macklin, who is the opponent who made 75k in his previous bout. Show me one example of a 6/7 split when one guys is bringing all the goods

So what do you mean by 'level' if it's not resume? Skills? Popularity? GGG is much more skilled and much more popular than Stevens.

Those who are telling GGG to step up, who should he fight?

Quillin? Quillin is ducking him. He already said so.

    Martinez? Martinez is injured.

Barker? Didn't Barker say he doesn't want to fight him? So he's ducking him too.

That's two guys ducking and one guy whose injured.

    So who should GGG fight?

I agree, but he's at a point in his career where the likes of Stevens need to be impressively KO'd so the media start demanding the top guys fight him. Right now the unbiased think this is a decent fight for GGG at this point.

If Andre Ward, Carl Froch, or Sergio Martinez fought Stevens it'd be considered a complete waste of time. You and Abel need to realise that GGG just isn't there yet.

The media is already demanding the top guys to fight him. Macklin, who is a much higher ranked fighter than Stevens, was impressively KO'd. This is a step back for GGG in terms of rankings, and I like Stevens.

I fully agree with this. GGG isn't a PPV star. We all like his skills but that's about it.

If they said Andre Ward or Carl Froch has to fight Stevens to get a shot at Sergio it would be laughed at. Unfortunately, GGG hasn't earned that right yet and has to fight people like Stevens right now.

Abel Sanchez needs to STFU and let his man build his name fast before he gets too old.

The thread title is misleading. I really enjoy watching GGG fight and hope he gets a chance at Martinez or Chavez Jr in the near future. A win over either one of those guys will make him better known in the States and should catapult him into getting big time fights for the foreseeable future.

I don't understand your point. First you complain that Stevens is a garbage fight, that GGG should be aiming higher. Then I show you that link, and now you're saying he should fight Stevens cause he hasn't earned a shot at Martinez.

Btw, look at the guys that earned the shot at Martinez: #10 rated JMW Dzin, Barker and Murray, neither of whom had a top 20 win. And Macklin of course
