Channel 5 have not shown a single world title fight

    they've had boxing on channel 5 for about 2 years now and they still haven't shown a single world title fight it's a joke

    They don't have a world champion, so why would they :patsch
    Would be great to get some stateside/foreign boxing on, mind - can't see it happening though.
    Froch/Pascal was the last world title fight they showed if I can remember correctly, or was that ITV?

    too many mismatches on channel 5
    hennessy should sign Mcdonnell

    Great shout. But I'm pretty sure he'll end up going to Matchroom. Can see Eddie getting Jamie and Kell on a lot of the same shows.

    If Fury (somehow) gets past Haye then you would have to suspect that a future shot at Wlad would be on Channel Five as there is no deal is in place over here to show the Klitchkos.

    Last heavyweight title fight to my knowledge on terrestrial TV was Lewis/Rahman I.

    they have only been showing boxing for 22 months on a small budget.

    theyve had about ten shows and none of there fighters are even close to a world title shot at the moment.

    Fury is at least three fights away and not sure whats happening eith Degale but i heard hes not happy with his level of activity.

    This thread is crazy.

    They haven't shown a world title fight,well no because they have a group of fighters that are called the 'new generation' by channel 5.
    All have under 20 fights
    Tyson fury
    James degale
    Kid Galahad
    Chris eubank jnr
    Hughie fury

    Considering they are prospects bar the top 2,the matches have been good.galahad fights for the British next week and I expect eubank to do the same within time.
    Fury and degale are being aimed at worlds but do you realise how hard that is when you have a tiny budget.

    Channel 5 are good on the whole and I like their coverage.

    Don't hold your breath on the world title front.

    USTV does not show enough Euro fighters. They avoid good competitive fights and many times show mismatches, more boring that a sparring session!

    I'd rather see good matches rather than simply fights with some 'world title' tag attached to them.
    There have been some decent fights on Channel 5. It's a free channel, so I aint complaining.

    Channel 5 is the only terrestrial channel showing boxing so no criticism from me, their coverage of the New generation has been good though this year a bit too quiet for me and Hennessys plan is possibly to get them the exposure as they are coming up and making some money as they do so. The truth is 5 dont have the budget to make big title fights and i doubt that if any get to that level they will stay with Mick for lon if 5 remains the only channel he works with.
