Floyd punches with power to get opponents into survival mode, then goes back to less powerful shots. There are often times when he puts someone into survival mode, they eventually snap out of it, Floyd sees that and then he puts them back in their place. I think Floyd will make Canelo respect his power. He made Shane who has an amazing chin, so he can do the same to Canelo.
If Alvarez is smart he will listen to the people who have been there before and go into the fight respecting all of Floyd's skills not just Power. To underestimate Floyd in any department is the very worst way to start the fight. One of the keys to success is to know how great he is. Accepting the fact that Floyd is a level above is key factor to not lose heart, in a fight that Alvarez will by zero doubt be the less skilled fighter.
He has power, especially when he was at 126,130,135 and 140. Once he moved up to welterweight, he stopped committing to his punches.
:rofl:rofl:rofl marquez had just jumped 2 weight divisions. and had like 2 fights ever at 135. zero fights at 140, zero fights at 147 over 50 at 126 no wonder mayweather frustrated him....
I have yet to see a fighter walk through Floyds shots like eating m&ms. Floyd tags you with pin point precision, and he has managed to get some iron chinned fighters their thurough respect, I am pretty sure Alvarez won't be an exception to that rule.
he will sting anyone to death if he hits you enough times. He just doesnt have 1 punch power, then again he never has. people said the same thing about Ali but he had enough power to keep people honest and off him.
do you honestly believe that fight would have been different at any time in their respective careers?
Canelos team did offer the 152 catchweight after Floyds team offered the fight at 147.... Now Team Mayweather gets to ride out the illusion that this was all poor management by Canelos team rather than own up to the fact they wanted it at 147
I believe Canelo can take Floyds punches without much problem. My concern for Canelo is, can he fight hard the whole fight if needed. His conditioning is the issue here in my opinion, not whether he will be affected by Floyds punching power. Floyd will be in condition, great condition in fact, and this, combined with his speed is his biggest advantage in the fight, especially if it goes the distance.
