I have been watching Matthysse's and Garcia's fights on my DVR. Matthysse is harder to hit, has a much shorter, quicker, harder left hook than Garcia, but Matthysse also has the awesome right hand, etc. I love Matthysse' stamina as well. I have heard that Garcia will try to outbox Matthysse.............

 

Hunberto Soto hurt Lucas bad. From Lucas own words so yes he can be hurt . And Alexander was on par cracking with him in the last round check out round 12. Garcia can crack and I see Danny winning the battle .but it's only my opinion

 

Matthysse wants to fight Alexander again. He had Alexander on the canvas as well as Judah. Judah did land a good punch on Matthysse, but it did nothing to him. Matthysse was the first to stop Soto, he knocked him out in the 5th round. I noticed Garcia sucking wind, even early. He took some good punches from an old washed up Morales who should never have been in the ring again. Matthysse gave up fighting Peterson for the title, as Peterson did not want to have it on the line, good thing he did. Garcia picked Peterson to beat Matthysse. Garcia's left hook is wider, he's not as fast, and he sure faded in the late rounds against Judah. I am not psychic, so I will have to wait until the fight is over, then I can predict the winner 100%! After Matthysse was cheated in the Two fights, he decided to knock everyone out, and he has so far.

 

where is the evidence danny is a master boxer? please show me a fight where he continuously boxed someones ears off. He hasn't. He won't.

 

Lucas has very underrated boxing skills. People are seeing only his big power but this guy is a smart boxer with good fundamentals.

 

As far as i can tell Garcia was hurt against judah by his own admission. Having said that garcia showed he had a great chin...literally eating several big left hands from judah late on in that fight.

matthysse on the other hand took one left early on in his fight with judah and then smiled, but interestingly was much more cautious in that fight, where he only pushed late on.

After rewatching both their last fights against Peterson and Judah respictively, I'm begging to see a chance for Garcia to get the KO win.

matthysse is wide open and Danny is the bigger fighter and probably the stronger fighter. They are both heavy handed with lucas taking it on power. but Danny has shown when under fire he remains pretty cool and can and will fire back with his own bombs.

If matthysse gets careless and swings wildly and Garcia catches him, I can see Matthysse being put to sleep. right now, i'm still leaning towards a matthysse win, but i could see an upset and may put my money down on it, if the odds come fight night are good enough.

 

I don't get why so many people think all Garcia needs to do is land 1 flush left hook and be home free.

Matthysse has an excellent chin.

Garcia has landed flush hooks on plenty of past opponents without that being the kibosh.

Yes, he does have a very nice left hook, but it's hardly as though all he needs to do is touch someone with it once and iron chin or not they're going to sleep. :huh When did this myth start?


Matthysse probably will eat hooks - but I don't expect it will make any difference or slow him down. It will be a decent weapon for Garcia for as long as he lasts, probably his best - just not enough.

 

It's the same myth that lucas just touches you and you get put to sleep...

Ajose and others needed a seveare beating before being put down.

Where Garcia can have the edge, is when he punches with his opponents... The shot where he dropped judah, he had just ate a judah left.... Likewise the big hook against khan and morales2 shows.... The shots you don't expect hurt more.

Add to that, when matthysse is swinging wildly, like the peterson fight and his momentum is going one and then he puts his face straight into a counter hook.... It would have double the force/impact. I dont care how good your chin is.... If you get caught putting all your frce into a punch and miss and at the same time the opponent lands a massive unexpected, well timed shot..... ITs LIGHTS OUT.

After watching their recent fights....i can definately see this possibility occuring. Now just because it can occur doesnt mean it will. I still favour lucas...only just

 

Matthysse rarely does this, it's not his m.o. Holding on to that logic is false confidence from team Garcia.

 

The only opinion I won't accept regarding this fight are those that lean towards some sort of clear domination coming to fruition for one of these fighters. Maybe its wishful thinking but this bout has the makings of something absolute and down right special. It should be a freaking war.

 

I think lucas will probably win, i hope lucas wins even though i think Danny is a good guy.

what i have seen from lucas since his defeat to alexander, is he has become more wreckless... And maybe even become obseessed and in love with his power. when Matthysse does pressure Garcia and maybe even hurts him... Garcia will fireback...maliggnaggi mentioned on commentary in his last fight....its almost like hes programmed like a robot....he has really good timing even when under fire.... Defence is poor but the way he sets his shots up....along with the fact Lucas is coming out fast now and many times wild.... It leaves lucas open for those big shots.... Just watch round 2 and 3 of the peterson fight...yes Lucas looked mean and hit hard... But he also missed several times.

All it takes is for him to miss once or to become careless and he will end up on the wrong end of some big shots...Because Garcia will fire back.

both are good body punchers as well and mix up their attack well. where I see Lucas having a clear advantage is in toughness especially the face. Danny cuts easier and he bleads like a ***** at times...if it become a prolonged war....Lucas takes it. given Garcia is also the bigger man... Making weight will mean Danny generally tires towards the later rounds...even Judah was more fresh than him in the championship rounds...

If Lucas doesn't get caught early... I favour him to win by stoppage late on

 

Garcia is also very dangerous early and the answer is yes he has the power to rock Lucas to his boots and make him very weary!
