Tim Bradley: "I'm damned if i do, damned if I don't (pull out of the Marquez fight)

Btw, I noticed that you omitted a large portion of the article discussing how Nevada would perform blood testing for this fight, which is a great step to clean up the sport. It's interesting how in the earlier portion of the interview Bradley claims that VADA is superior to USADA because it's "like the iphone 5" while USADA is the "regular iphone" (lol, okay..) and claims that Nevada is holding a gun to his head by making him submit to testing with them. But later in the interview, he praises Mayweather for taking the lead in testing by using USADA then says the states need to get involved in order to clean up the sport. The guy can't keep his story straight:

"Bradley was open and very honest in the interview with us. He knows there’s a problem with testing in the sport and feels that it will take more than the big names like Mayweather who uses USADA for all his fights, and Nonito Donaire who was the first boxer to be sign up for year round VADA testing, to change solve that problem.

“I think anything is possible. Fighters can definitely come together and demand testing but it’s more of a state issue. It’s kind of like Nevada, they got involved and they are enforcing drug testing. This is the first actual bout that Nevada is doing more than a pee test. We’re doing blood, urine, and doping tests over basic urine tests. It’s a state issue. Every state is different. If there is boxing in every state, there should be better testing,” stated Bradley. He would continue to say that maybe the random testing can start at the top level then domino effect down.

“If it’s just for championship fights, then let it be for championship fights. I think it’s great for championship fights at least. I just don’t think that one voice or two voices is big enough like me Donaire, Amir Khan, and Mayweather. It’s going to take the whole sport and the states involved. It’s not the fact that people use during the season like baseball or training camps, it’s basically when no one is around, you’re doing this stuff and get it out the system. I just wished there was random testing for all the champions and the guys that are going for the champions, at least once a month. If you carry a belt, you should be tested once a month.” "

 

give it a rest with the feeding my family business, his last few fights would have earned him enough for a few future generations to live on,try living on 30-35grand a year, i do however agree completley with the testing though, same company should be testing both prefrably the better one

Bradley a couple of weeks ago was adamant the contract stated both would test with USADA and VADA, now he admits thats not what was in the contract and he's still bitching about it.

I just have the feeling Bradley has convinced himself Marquez is a monster and he'll mentally quit the first time Marquez hits him clean.

Bradley is just not acting like a mentally tough fighter.

Dont be suprise if Bradley pulls a Mosley. First punch Pacquiao hit him clean with, Mosley convinced himself Pacquiao was the most murderous puncher in history.

 

Tim got outmaneuvered by the Bobfather this time. I have no idea what the contract really says, but the way Bob co-opted the testing requirements, it's likely the contract gives him or the Nevada commission that right. Tim said his wife was in charge of his contracts, or something like that. Which is a little strange, since he could certainly afford a decent lawyer at this point to negotiate these things properly.

Of course, the way it works out means there is less likelihood a fighter on the latest brand of juice will be caught. Which is almost certainly the way Bob wants it.

Include Tim among the number of people who can't understand how Marquez, by natural means, suddenly got into the best shape of his life at the age of 40, and at a career high weight. “It wasn’t the knockout. You cant look at it like its Juans fault here though I agree with Bradley 100% this issue has been a question in my mind since the fight was made, Memo who works with Juan also works with USADA, Tim requested VADA testing and who works there? Victor Conte of course Memo and Juan do not want to test through VADA there is a trust issue there....
Not really Juans fault nor Timmys fault this is what happens when two steroid dealers get busted and rat each other out Bradley still wins though
