If Bowe had broken Donald's jaw and cut his tongue in half, leaving him gurgling out cold in a pool of blood, I guarantee he would have faced dire consequences as well. Max must be tortured by this to this day. Too bad it doesn't help his annoying persona and creepy voice.

Some of what you said is correct, but you're seriously overlooking the fact that he's a journalist from a respected news organization. That part of the equation just means nothing to you. Most professional journalists and news organizations prohibit conflicts of interest, particularly when personal relationships and money are involved, unless the conflict of interest is disclosed.
