Duran isn't white He didn't beat "all the blacks" Any chance I'm being an over sensitive american and this just isn't as big of deal in Argentina, including misrepresenting Duran's ethnicity.
I know in some Hispanic nationalities if your skin color is not black or tanned you're considered white, which makes sense. However, you're right Duran did not defeat all black fighters, and I'm not sure why skin color has to be brought up. Duran's an all time great that defeated a lot other great fighters.

there's some serious self hate going on with castro. duran is definitely not white. there are a lot of latino's that consider themselves white....that is until they catch the boot of some skin head up side their heads or some **** like that. it's sad...
are there a whiter group of latinos than the argentinians? they have a huge german population that migrated there after hitler and the nazi's fell from power.
probably argentinians and uruguayans are the most white people of latin america. And some (hundreds) nazis officers migrated here (to usa too). There are a lot of german descendants not related to nazis, trust me. But there are not many african descendants so this black/white issue is not common. Castro is probably spanish/indian descendant, mestizo, as his skin is darker.
Yeah, I think there was already a large Germanic population in Argentina and Uruguay, which was precisely the reason for the post WWII exodus. Matthysse is of Dutch descent I believe FWIW.
Duran is white. Maybe not in the American warped view of race, but to most of the world, he's a white man.
