I just hope the names of the guys sell itself but I think you are playing with fire charging these prices with this garbage promotion. I thought we would see something very similar to Floyd-Oscar with this promotion but I think its actually been closer to the Ghost fight.

They did alot of stops on the tour but other then that I feel like meh. I think we all thought the Ghost promotion was meh but I put it on Showtime's 1st big fighter in awhile, had a short time to promote it, and they knew Canelo was next.

This time though, its bascially the same. Im not feeling the buzz. Im not hearing the non stop talk on Sportscenter. What happened to all the stuff CBS was suppose to do? They did more for the Ghost fight then they have for this one and it wasnt that much then.

Showtime just isnt stepping up like HBO did. I dont see all the stops being pulled out. Thats not even counting the great card we have. They should have some kinda mini countdown thing or side thing for lucas-Garcia. They should have someone on TV speaking out and hyping that fight up.

I dont even think the casual fans know about that fight. They need someone on TV telling people that the co main event is one of the biggest fights in boxing to the hardcore fans. That the winner will probaby get Floyd next. That Danny is undefeated and they are calling Lucas the next Pacquiao. People would be intrigued.

I just dont get it. So you do a crap promition and jack the prices up. There is no way it challanges Oscar. It may not have beat it anyways but it couldve gave it a run for its money or something. I even thought they should do 5 episodes of All Access or something a lil extra or different.

Maybe on Monday fightweek will hit and it will blowup but Im just not feeling even a 10th of the buzz that I thought I would see. Why would Showtime give Floyd all this money and 2 fights in, not try all they can to make these fights so big that they get a huge return? No matter what they get, they couldve gotten more. I dont care how well it does, it couldve been better and it shouldve been better

Why do you give a f*ck? you're still ordering right, so **** it. Why worry about who else is gonna order it or not. You have no vested interest in the PPV money and you're not getting any of it.

You dont get it. Its not about the sales. Its about the exposure. Thats what Im speaking of. I could care less about the money. It ends up being represented in money but Im speaking of the exposure. This is suppose to be the biggest fight since Floyd-Oscar and im not hearing/feeling the buzz. I want the sport of boxing to be as big as possible. This event is probably the biggest thing this sport has to offer right now next to Floyd-Pac and we arent taking advantage of it

Yeah, the promotion is not as good as HBO had, but I guess I will still order the fight because I want to see Matthysse/Garcia...........

Probably the main reason you're not seeing exposure like the May/Oscar fight is because both those fighters are household names in the U.S. Outside of Mexico, only boxing fans know about Canelo.

I've not bought a PPV fight in ages and I'm likely going to get this one, not just for the main event, but for the Garcia/Matthysse bout. My guess is that one will be the fight of the evening because Floyd will do what he does and pot shot Alvarez after dodging him most of the fight.

but isnt that even more of a reason to promote the supposed biggest fight since the Oscar? If people outside the US dont know Canelo then you have to promote it so they do

Look, the only people that are going to buy the fight are fight fans. It matters not how much they promote the fight because the folks that don't follow boxing, or are just casual fans, are not going to lay out the cost of this PPV event.

Hell, I follow boxing and this will be the first PPV I've bought since Tyson was the HW Champ. Seems almost every major fight now is PPV and that sucks.

Like I mentioned in my other post, I'm getting this fight more for the Garcia/Matthysse fight. If they weren't on the card, I'd likely get the results of the main event on ESPN when it's over.

I totally disagree with you. You act like everyone is like you and havent bought one since Tyson. Floyd & Pac have been doing huge PPV's and the majority of those buys come from casual fans. I dont get how you are acting like casual fans wont buy a boxing PPV. They do

Looks like there's no pleasing you unless the replies totally agree with your stance.

If you don't like how they are promoting this fight, get a job with Showtime's PPV department and fix it. I'm sure they would welcome your insight as to how they should spend their advertising budget.

Exposure? the hottest fighter in Mexico right now facing Floyd Mayweather and the need more exposure? are you kidding me?
