Good match-up? Will Wilder be the first one to KO James 'Lights Out' Toney, or will the veteran shatter Wilders jaw?

Interesting matchup. Thompson doesn't have the gas to go beyond round 4, but he's fought a big tall puncher in Price - I'm sure he'd be able to expose Wilder's glass jaw if he had one.

edit: oh James Toney not TT hahah

God, tell me this fight is not actually, really happening or being discussed.

A 6'7" power punching heavy is going to fight a 45 year old middleweight, who has had over 80 fights, lost two of his last four, and himself only has a 50% KO ratio?

    Really? Really Deontay?

Why not just fight Holyfield or Bowe? Oh wait, their phones are probably ringing even as we speak.

Where are Cabbleaddict and the other nut-sack cleaners to tell us why this is such a great fight and those of us who object to putting a shopworn old man's life in danger are haters, morons and racists?

Terrible match up. James Toney is a journeyman and Wilder is a contender with a perfect KO record. This fight could permanently brain damage Toney and shouldn't even be considered. Even if by some fluke he were to win he would lose his health.

Worst thing would be is that Toney actually survives and makes it to the scorecards. Win or lose (very probably lose) he would have taken so many hard shots his brain would be turned into pudding.
I don't think he makes it past 4 though, no matter how strong his chin.

TT by KTFO I think. TT is in his A game for the first 4 rounds, more than enough to expose Wilder.

    Ummm brain damage:huh:huh:huh:huh:huh

It would be a little too late in the game for Toney to start considering those issues nowadays.

But if Toney's ppl have any sense they wouldnt let him be embarrassed in this manner. His defense is all but gone, and he eats punches.

Wilder MIGHT be the hardest punching HW in the biz, and Toney is not known for being some slick boxer anymore.:-(

Toney would be exactly the sort of "step up" Wilder's management is looking for to build their fraudulent contender - a has-been former great who doesn't hit hard enough to shatter their fighter's shaky mandible. :yep

Someone needs to step in and put a stop to Toney's career. its clear none of the people around him care about him
