Thanks for your good wishes. The publishers are bringing it out in hardback. I suspect that a paperback (and kindle) edition will be out next summer (depending on sales.)

A genuine all time great ..i actually called my dog Marvin in his honour...there was a rumour when i was a kid that Hagler had boxed his way out of prison?obviously now i know that is impossible but was there even a shred of truth in that?

Sure Damian covered all things Hagler as a kid the first fight I remember seeing him was v Alan Minter lots of pre fight hype Minter said something he shouldn't of great fight 3 rounds just like the Hearns fight.

To me it was actually more important than beating Hearns even though that is the fight he is best remembered for the best 1st round I have ever seen but should he of come up short redemption could still of been attained.

Going into that Minter fight 49-2-2 & should have been champ already against Vito Antuofermo he was in the last chance saloon. He was avoided written a bit about it on the training section on a thread by Dempsey1234 boxing manager thread.

Great fighter iron chin & as a fan to me he beat SRL! Had the smarts to quit at that point the Mugabi fight took a lot out of him IMO great career which was a privilege to follow.

This sounds great, I've ordered it despite trying to be kindle only these days for new books.

I only learned of your Hearns book through the Talksport interview. Just bought it on kindle for 3 stinking quid. Fantastic. Cheers for all the hard work.

Did Marvelous Marvin cooperate with the book? Did you interview him? At length?

Thank you. I appreciate your kind feedback.

To answer the earlier question, I met Marvin in Italy and he was not against the book being written but didn't want to co-operate. He has never written a book and has no plans to but, quite understandably, wishes to keep his options open if he changes his mind.

He did allow us to interview some important figures in his career, especially Goody Petronelli, who was a fount of knowledge as was George Kimball.

We have really enjoyed writing the book for the last three years and hope that you enjoy it too.
