Cotto came to the PBF-Gatti fight and sat ring side the look on his face when PBF tooled Gatti was priceless. Arum didn't want the fight and said Cotto was too green. Fast forward to 2006 PBF got out of his contract with Top Rank and Arum held a grudge he was not going to do business with PBF and sacrifice one of his up and coming stars in Cotto to PBF. Further proof is that as soon as Cotto leaves Top Rank the fight gets made with no problems.

In conclusion the reason why the fight didn't happen sooner was that Cotto aa one point was too green and the whole PBF/GBP-Arum thing but as soon as Cotto leaves Top Rank the fight is made. You can see it was Arum and Top Rank who stopped the fight not PBF.:deal
