I think it's safe to say that he was one the worst chins among English domestic HW's, only A-farce has him beat.
By Lewison, eh? I suppose that isn't utterly humiliating; Lewison did rock Timo Hoffman's world and dispose of him in two minutes on Prizefighter (though it was a mite quick as ref stoppages go) Still, that's four times now and those happen to his four steps up to reasonable competition...not counting Zack Page, over whom Dallas had to rely on a gift decision. (and yes I consider Page more of a step up than Little) Feed him to Richard Towers in a freak-show big-lug torch-passing and be done with it.
Tom Dallas has been asked by friends and family to retire as they don't want to see him get seriously hurt. I hope he agrees with them and retires as these guys hit too hard for his level of punch resistance.
Yeah. Four knockout losses without a single respectable victory (and no, Little and Page don't count; Little because he is no good either and Page because he got robbed) ought to drive the message home - he just ain't about this life.
tom dallas was ahalf decent amateur, although my mate sparked him as junior and hes only a super middleweight now so maybe the writing was on the wall?
Maybe so, funny that as my mate beat Matthew Macklin as an amatuer, conversly Mack has gone on to a good boxing career, my mates a labourer haha
love how when a boxer falls short stepping up a level hes made out to be a complete joke. Hes a domestic fighter, there is no shame in not making it to the top! Can everyone here say they are the best in the world at their job? He's always gone down swinging, so its not like hes a audley harrison. I've also never heard Dallas claiming to be world class, so why lay into him for not being? I agree on retiring because of health concerns but he might not have much to fall back on and its not like jobs are easy to come by.
Looks to me like he's just fighting the wrong fight...he's getting caught with wild swinging punches ones he should be out of the way of..... Needs a better strategy or maybe he just doesnt have it! no shame either way.
I think the board ought to consider pulling his licence, whether he's thinking about it or not. I've watched that vid on my phone, his defence and punch resistance are both poor. He'd probably not get as much grief if he wasn't heralded by Maloney as world class, or received one of the worst decisions in recent years against Zack Page.
Dallas is awful.. I don't even think there are any domestic fights that he can win! He doesn't seem like a bad guy though, he just chose the wrong profession. Dallas better retire before he comes the next Lee Swaby or even worse..
