Disagree Arnie, Burns has tied up in the past, but not hold, he usually uses that to work on the inside, he did so against Katsidis, Gomez, Martinez and he even landed a few good inside uppercuts on Beltran, he was clearly in distress over his jaw last night, he was well out of sorts

Of course, still a fair win for Beltran, he was the guy who caused it thanks to Rickys sloppy defence and throwing wild left hook bodyshots from the outside

He's tied up but never held?
I really respect Ricky and Billy but just pointing out facts and he holds inside a lot that's fact! Always throws wide lefts to the body also.

He usually ties up an arm then works his other arm in to throw uppercuts, or to push away and create space for body shots

point being he usually works on the inside, I've rarely seen him just "hold" when a guy gets close

Yeah those long range bodyshots were always going to be a problem

Holding with one arm and hitting with the other isn't working on the inside! We beg to differ but will leave it there.

You'll see that he slides the other arm in too when he gets the chance Arnie, it's not like he just holds with one and wails away with the other, he works his arms in, watch the Martinez and Katsidis fights, he works on the inside when under pressure

The Mitchell fight was the turning point for me he blew Mitchell away and he's started to think he's a puncher now and instead of boxing he's started to swing and get wild

One thing is for sure he will not be getting on that plane for now, until Hearn is ready to cash out on him. I cant see Crayford fight happening as he wont come to Scotland and Eddie will probably pay him off to step aside. Crayford would be a number on this kid. Must have been mad to even think he would have been competitive against Broner.

this implies that Burns wasn't even a champion, since Gonzalez only lost to Burns because of a cut and so he really took burns title months ago.

face the facts, Rickys not champion anymore in anyones eyes. He needs to 'get his title back' by rematching Beltran.

I think the only option is to pay Beltran enough to come back.
But if Top Rank weren't such penny pinching cvnts these days they could back their guy and pay Ricky enough to go over there and fight in a support bout.
But Alex Morrison likes the guarantee of Glasgow ticket sales a bit too much even if TR did do the right thing by Beltran.
I mean they have Crawford as well. Why not sell the fight as him taking in the winner?

  10. He needs a new trainer and to sort his jaw out, that's what's next for Ricky Burns.

Hopefully a Beltra rematch .Wonder how Beltran would do against Vazquez as well.

Listen,he could have five losses in a row and I doubt he'd dump Billy.

He has a fierce loyalty to him and Alex that I doubt will ever change, right or wrong.

  13. Not what I've heard matey.... trouble in paradise I've heard.

Old Chubbsy Malone won't be there for his next fight.
