If Canelo beats Mayweather, should he fight Cotto next? Sure, it would be a big money fight, but I don't think beating a shopworn Cotto (If he does beat him) does much for his resume. It depends on how Cotto looks against Rodriguez.
They fought already. Cotto stunned him in the first round but couldn't capitalize, ended up getting stopped himself.
More likely that Mayweather beats Canelo, than Canelo is fed a few lower level fighters before fighting Cotto.

I think Cotto is being set up by HBO to help feed Sergio Martinez to have one last meal before they sacrifice Maravilla to GGG or a Chavez rematch.
