excellent marketing, doubtless costing less than advertising campaigns, wouldn't be surprised if it were tax-deductable to boot.
I complained to Hills about not returning the stakes on the first Quigg-Munroe fight and they returned my stake eventually after they received loads of complaints but this is a new thing from Paddy as far as I know.
They'll be up millions from this fight so you're spot on.They already have the advertising slot so it's a minimal payout on what would've been a great night for bookies.
Paddy have a history of doing this and paying oput early on winners eg Arsenal many seasons to go who eventually lost the Premier league to Man U. Additionally they don't really lose any money on it as most people gamble away the cash in their account on other bets anyway so..... It is a winner all round for them! And how many people use paddy in the future to bet on boxing even when they havent got the best odds in the hope they do it again? excellent buasiness savvy!
