Why are people backing matthysse so much?

Boxing really needs a Hagler type figure, rather than highly paid, highly hyped pretenders like Berto, Ortiz etc.

Matthysse is a **** poor version but he's as close as there is, and thus I'll support him!

 

Calling him **** poor version is a bit much, but i get your point fella, Hagler and co were different gravy Ha.

To answer the OP, people love guys like Lucas, Guys who fight and look like a serial killer and are knocking out dudes all the time always generate fan-fair. I'm a fan for sure and i expect him to KO Garcia but Garcia has a chance. Garcia is being underrated slightly i feel.

Ha i guess it is. Guys like Lucas are good for the sport though, KO Power punchers are always fun to watch. Would be boring if all the fighters were like Floyd, Ward, Rigo etc.

 

I think Garcia's power is a bit overrated. Stopped Khan who has no chin and an old corpse Morales. Struggled against certain fighters. To beat Matthysse you need to be able to box and move, which isn't Danny's style. Its a real tough fight to call, but i favor Matthysse to stop Garcia, just due to who they have fought.
Matty arguably beat Alexander and Judah, beat Peterson, beat a past prime blown up Soto, beat Olusegun.
Garcia has beaten an old Morales twice, a glass chinned Khan, an old Judah and Campbell, and a past prime Holt.
Tough fight to call, but Matthysse got this i think, but i wouldn't be suprised if Danny found a way to win.
