Hatton's performance against Mayweather looks better with every opponent Floyd beats

Really, some people say Hatton performed badly but there were moments in the fight early on where he was troubling Floyd. So much so that the fatass referee decided to give Floyd a helping hand and stop Ricky from fighting the way he wanted to fight (which was working).

I haven't seen many of Floyd's opponent trouble him as much as Ricky did early on.

Even HBO had Ricky winning after six rounds.

He didn't really trouble him he made him work the first 4-5 rounds then took a beating

True this, and I think that Mayweather from round six onwards was the best he's ever been in the Hatton fight. Total masterclass.

I can't believe the number of comments I've seen that said the Canelo bout was a boring fight. Take the first, 11th and 12th round out and it was an astounding example of boxing brilliance.

Could easily have had it a shut-out, though I scored it 118-110.

To be fair, that was still poor scoring.

Mayweather I think just underestimated him from round 5 he clicked against him. Hattons style was on his own at the time in that division

Can you point me in the direction Hatton was "troubling Floyd"?

Hatton started very quicky, Mayweather adjusted, beat him up and knocked him out so how does Canelo going the distance with Mayweather make Hattons performance look better.

Hatton was 6,8 and 8 points down on the cards by the time he was stopped.

If Floyds troubled it's because he allows it, the moment anyone does anything which causes him bother he goes back to boxing smart. The only way he can be beat as by someone with speed and a similar boxing acumen. Assuming he fights for 2 more years only, there is nobody out there with these traits so its pretty much a certainty we see him retire undefeated

Hatton was actually landing punches, thats a start....

Id give much more credit to someone like Hatton who got knocked out but actually had success in parts of the fight than just going the distance and not being competitive at all like Canelo was.

So Hatton landed a few punches and then got beaten up and knocked out, Mayweather stopped knocking people out in 2005, only two fighters have been stopped by Mayweather in his last 10 fights, Hatton and Ortiz and the latter stood there and let Mayweather knock him out.

And the score cards? 6,8 and 8 rounds down at the time of the stoppage but hey if in your opinion Hatton landing a few punches early on somehow makes his performance look better than Alvarez' then ok.

Different game plan. If Floyd took centre ring like he did tonight he'd have finished Hatton within the first 4 rounds. He was landing big, hurtful shots against a 165lber tonight.

You shouldn't confuse a valiant effort with getting beat
