Basically Canelo got schooled by a welterweight. I know the catchweight thing was a big deal for Floyd detractors but this guy had a 15 lb advantage on fight night. You could clearly see the size disparity when they were in the ring. I gave Canelo 2 rounds...barely. Seriously Canelo would of KO'd any other 150 lb fighter but Floyd is not any other 150 lb fighter. The guy is special, he proved once again size dont matter, skills do.

i love sitting down and watching the fight with my good mate whos a boxing purist but we also love sitting down with people who dont watch boxing because its always fun to see the opinion of a person who does not watch the sport

tonight we sat down with my good friends sister and husband as they graciously let us purchase the PPV at there house and watch it

i think it was the second round when adam (sisters husband, does not watch boxing) said "the white guy seems alot bigger".

It's embarassing for Floyd. Canelo only increased his weight by 13 lbs. Look at the Garcia Mattyssee fight. They increased their weight by 11 and 12 lbs respectively.

It's FMJ that is the one who is not choosing to increase his weight, and demanding catchweights. The catchweight had a lot to do what happened. Canelo was not 100%. He still managed his weight okay, but it's a hollow victroy for Floyd because the only way he won was by weight draining Canelo, something he criticized other fighters for doing and said he wouldn't do.

Haha. I know! FMJ was the one crying about the weight. It turned out that Canelo went up about as much as Lucas and Danny went up. So it was just Floyd paranoia about Canelo's weight the whole time.

Is your intent to bash on Canelo or praise Floyd?

kirk, i see you edited your post to "from Canelo fans" because you realized that Floyd was the one crying about the catchweight in the first place, and led us to the situation that happened tonight. Like Floyd himself said, he considered Cotto still an undefeated fight because Pac drained him and he wasn't at his best. Same thing here.

And Canelo, even weight drained, still put up a very good fight.

Canelo and his team have no excuses whatsoever. They had said before the fight was made that they would drop to 150 to fight Floyd. 152 was only 1 pound less than the 153 he weighed for Trout. Canelo found out that fighting Floyd is not the same as fighting Trout and the brothers of Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton.

Not true. That was created by TMT. The quote was from 2011 and Canelo was answering a question that a reporter posed to him. FMJ's team was the one who started negotiations requesting the fight to be at 147 (which made no sense since after he fought Cotto at 154 to gain that belt) and requested a re-hydration limit. This was all created by TMT. This has been established. We've known this. Floyd wouldn't fight unless it was at a Catchweight, and which is why FMJ is till the P4P Catchweight King of All-Time!!!!! :deal

wait, so you think a guy who had all sorts of trouble to hit the target, needed to be slower and heavier to hit the target?

    espn should hire you

Floyd was fighting at a weight he's comfortable with. Canelo was supposed to come in at 170+. Do the math genius.

By the way this is another Catchweight thread started by a ***** so who is
    doing the bitching?:hi:

Weight draining affects stamina. Canelo was not at 100%. He wasn't at his best. And no thanks I have zero interest in working for ESPN. ESPN is full of FMJ nuthuggers. I wouldn't fit in well there.
