The card in general probably didn't. Certainly not much in terms of action, then again expectations were so high. But we saw a great display from an ATG and a very good display from Garcia.
Funny how Oscar was full believing in Alvarez to beat Mayweather with all the talk and hype. Atleast Alvarez went to school against his teacher Mayweather jr.
It went exactly how I anticipated...an action packed preliminary and a boring main event, where an overmatched Canelo struggled to keep his breathing steady while fighting an older man.
Well the Cano and Molina fights were going to be trash on paper in terms of entertainment, so no surprises there. Mayweather/Alvarez was as entertaining as a one sided ass beating decision can get. Garcia/Matthysse is the only possible "let down" as most experts and amateur experts picked a KO in that one. It was still a good fight with three or so great rounds.
Just rewatched the fight, it was good. Canelo did well but tried to outbox the master, he got off a lot of hard shots and hit Floyd with some good shots. Floyd was just too sharp too smart.
The main event pretty much went as I expected. I did feel slightly let down by the Garcia v Lucas fight, I hoped we would see more of what we saw in the last 20 seconds of the fight, shame it took over 35 mins to get to that.
Good card overall. Nady & Smith took a huge **** in the middle of it but... (Glad Molina STILL got his first belt tho regardless) Other than that, I was satisfied. Cano in another barnburner. Garcia is the man @140 no questions about it. Mayweather outpointed Alvarez, Saul saves face by taking minimal damage except ego. Floyd didn't get hurt, Both guys live to fight another day.
it has been a long time since money may stood in pocket and actually fought and not pot shot..i was very surprise he was willing to exchange more than a few times...normally floyd would wait and counter but he was leading alot in this fight. Props to the greatest.
