I never understood it, Im not trying to disrespect Pacquiao. I've just never understood why people thought that was going to be a fight.

I see nothing that says that Pacquiao could beat Floyd. He wouldn't be the favorite. I guess theres always the possibility of a flash KO, but not with Floyds defense and his chin.

Everytime someone says Pac would beat Floyd, all I ask is "how" and no one ever has an answer.

So without bias, using some sort of fact. Seriously tell me what Pacquiao brings to the table that would enable you to think that he could ever seriously beat Floyd.

I really don't understand. Stylistically it just doesn't match up.

Floyd can handle speed, power, and the "trouble with southpaws" theory isn't proven, on top of that Pacquiaos not even the bigger man.

Why do you think he would win? Serious question.

a punchers chance that he has, or had..he will never or can never out box mayweather.... different angles and volume of punches are his advantage and thats not even advantage against floyd, but against other fighters.. floyd is on a class of his own.

maybe on some judges scorecard will they have it scored for pac as the agressor which would be so wrong since its ineffective agression or so we think..

No. Only a punchers chance, which against Mayweather, is essentially nothing.

Pac on juice had a 30% chance.

Clean Pac has a 10% chance.

Of course, he was a fighter of the highest calibre.

But I think that the styles favour Mayweather and it is really really difficult to overcome a style advantage in a fighter that exceptional.

I can't say he would win, it would be interesting to see. I could see a Prime Pac landing something big, how would Floyd react to that? Also Pac is iron chinned would've been good.

His speed and unorthadox style gives may trouble for 3 rounds max... Pac cant fight going backwards, he has quick feet though cant cut off the ring... Mayweather is to experienced to let manny KO him, even if he had floy in trouble ala mosley round 2 floyd would tie him up or take a knee and recover almost immediately and continue to break down pac. Wev seen mayweather do this time and time again against the likes of corley, mosley andi suppose hernandez

Its not the power or the punchers change that made Manny so dangerous, its the speed.
Raw speed he is faster than Mayweather which makes it a very intresting match up.

The counterpuncher analogy with Marquez needs to be thrown out the window.
Marquez throws while Manny throws, Mayweather does not counter punch in the same fashion.

He blocks/slips and then counters, but considering Manny can at least match the speed it makes it a much more dangerous proposition, especially with the angles Manny uses.

Mayweather would rightfully be the favorite, but i give Manny a much much better chance than Canelo just based on styles.

No, but he would have made it interesting.

I still think the fight happens...too much money and Floyd doesn't have enough opponents.

Too bad the two didn't just shut up and fight back in 2009. Imagine how big of a draw/relevance that would been in the history of boxing.

Like I said back in 2009, Manny is not smart, disciplined or have the skills to beat Mayweather. It's going to take more than fast hands to beat him.
