    Hi everyone,

How much do you spend a week on food? I'm currently doing my online food order, I've been following the advice from the nutrition thread, but my balance is currently at £62, and I've still got more to add to the order! Is this the normal amount to spend every week?

    Cheers.

Hard to say unless you list everything that you're spending on.

Sounds pretty heavy to me, but it might not reflect the amount of food you eat as much as it reflects the type of food you eat.

    i.e.
If you're eating food mostly from scratch and do a lot of your own cooking
    versus
If you're eating a lot of pre-prepared/processed food,

My grocery expenditure is about 80 Canadian dollars weekly, which is about 48 British pounds (77 US dollars).

Also, due to different costs of living in different countries - perhaps someone else from the UK might have a better perspective.

I spend on average $700 a month, but that is for a family of 4. I cook all meals from scratch and don't rely on pre-made foods except for the odd pizza every now and then.

I do grow a lot of my own vegetables in my garden to supplement the food bill.

My wife works full time and I'm retired so I do all the grocery shopping. Just about every day we have a home cooked meal.

Monday was red beans with sausage over rice, Tuesday was beef stew with potatoes and carrots over rice, Wednesday was breaded pork steaks with wild rice cooked in home made chicken stock, Thursday they wanted baked frozen pizza and Friday was potato salad, vegetable salad and BBQ chicken. I just put a large pork roast at 2 a.m. on my smoker and that will be eaten with sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli later today after the roast cooks for 12 hours. Sunday is going to be left over day.
