2.2 million buys for "The One"

This thread and about 3 others is full of people saying it would do 1-1.5 mill. I said at the time only a flid would come to this conclusion. They are all incredibly quite now. Plain economics. CBS and Showtime would never have commited so much money if it even had a 5% chance of flopping.

 

im glad to have watched Floyd v Canelo, the biggest fight in a long time, boxing is very much alive and well

 

It is thanks to Canelo. His people filled MGM as well.

 

"The One" PPV has set a precedent for future events - you need a great undercard for the fans to buy - Credit to DSG & LM here! For the boxing purists, it was great to have two massive fights on one card.

 

Canelo is the face of boxing. Not floyd.

I disagree, it was a great fight Iceman, so was Garcia v Matthysse. Its not just about the fight. The weigh-in, the hype, the tension, the fans. Will have fond memories of the event in general. Biggest boxing fight since the Hatton invasion.

 

How's your quest of "waiting for Floyd's downfall so I can gloat" going? It's still going is it? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, poor baby. Go find your mom. I'm sure she's got a fresh nipple for you to suckle from to help dry those tears.

This PPV's numbers came out in under 4 days, but it took over a month for the numbers to "trickle" in for the Guerrero fight.


Gee, I wonder why. I guess it takes longer to add up "one million":yep buys than it does over 2 million.

 

I don't believe **** that mayweather , his camp or his fans are saying, watching the fight replay on showtime right now and imo mayweather is super featherfisted and boring as hell, all these ppv numbers and stories about mayweather making more than 100 million could be part of hype.

 

Anything negative about Mayweather comes under smoke and mirrors by his team.
