Could have went either way. The fight was not a clear win for anyone. Jones probably deserved to keep the title in fairness, Gus just come up a little bit short. If Gus was the champ there I'm sure he would have kept the belt.

    Rematch please!

Tough fight to score, 3-2 either fighter depending on what /how you score. No robbery at all. Anyone crying robbery is butthurt.

The poll on Sherdog is more than 2 to 1 in favour of Gus.

It was a close fight. Either guy could have won. If Gus had won I'd have been fine, although Gus was stunned more often than Jones. My general impression was that Jones won.

For some reason some folks love nothing more than to be bitching about horrible decisions, and never more than when they think a challenger should have won a title fight. It was a good fight and everyone should be happy, but "a good fight" isn't as interesting as "a robbery" for some people.

Anyway, I was really surprised that Jones was so easily attacked with simple jab-cross-uppercut. That's really all Gus landed with all night. Jones was so by far the better athlete that I thought he'd own Gus, but he seemed to have in his head that he had to finish with a spinning elbow or some crazy knee and just got beaten up. I had thought that Jones won fight after fight because of skill and athleticism and not just height and reach, but after last night I have to wonder. He really needs to be quite about boxing after that display.

I'm really curious to see what a rematch looks like. Gus should be ready for all those spinning techniques, and Jones can't possibly get hit all night by 1-2s.

That means the fight wasn't a robbery then. The fight was close and Jones happened to be on the right end. I had Gus winning 3-2 personally, a Jones decision didn't bother me much. I knew the fight was dead close and depends on how you want to score the rounds.

Jones got the nod because the fight was to close to call. The champion always gets the upper hand, to beat him you must win clearly. Massive respect to Gus, he busted Jones up bad. Gus would have surely won if he had a tiny bit more in the tank. Jones was able to take advantage late in the 4th and 5th rounds. That's where Gus lost the fight..

And fighters/fans have it a wide UD for Gus.

The media and judges do not know how to score mma.

If takedowns are valued so high, then takedown stuffs need to be valued as such.

That doesn't even get into clean and effective striking.

I'm ok with the decision, I would have had no problem had it tipped to Gus. The only issue I have is the 49 that one judge gave Jones. No way Jones won 4-1

48-47 to either fighter and maybe not unanimous.

You're clearly a moron buddy. How on earth do you not have jones winning the 4th ? Gus was edging the rd then Jones unleashed an incredible onslaught of elbows to completely **** him up and come very close to stopping him.

I think a lot of the people scoring for Gus are doing so because they were in awe of an opponent actually giving Jones a tough competitive fight.

Reminds me of the first Jones Jr - Tarver fight which a lot of people thought Tarver won. It was the first fight in Jones Jr's career where he didn't completely destroy and outclass his opponent and people are amazed and give the opponent too much credit in their scoring because they are not getting steamrolled like all previous opponents.

Dumb people call close fights robberies... The fight could have gone either way.

I thought Gus won the first three (though they were very close), but I thought any one of those could have gone to Jones; so while I thought Gus won the fight, I didn't think that he definitively won a single round. Jones, on the other hand, clearly (in my books) edged out the last two rounds. So yeah, it doesn't surprise me that Jones got the victory.

However, we will always have dumb fans crying robbery at every close decision. Why will we always have to experience this? Because we didn't move forward with eugenics.

Close but clear win for Gus, should've had a new champ last night.

**** outta here, man if you win you win, what is this you have to take the belt away, **** that, win on points is enough, the belt is there to be taken, **** the belt Jones can keep the belt, just give Gustaffson the Win.

I caught myself scoring Vittles/Chisora exactly like that.
