I guess you don't understand how things work -- the fighter gets X dollars (as negotiated) for training expenses. He spends that as he wants and doesn't have to spend all of it.

What doesn't happen is his camp calling the promoter and having them book a flight, room and local transportation for sparring partners, then bring them food each meal -- and then the promoter pays out each expense. If the fighter manages the expenses well, he can line his pockets.

So if Haye got, say, $20,000-$30,000 for training expenses (that's a guess, could be higher but not much lower) and spent half of it, he keeps the rest. He doesn't have to account for it.

Haye has figured out the scam -- he's collected training expenses for TWO STRAIGHT fights without ever actually fighting.

But then again, he's not a fighter anymore, is he? He's a "celebrity" who wants to make a living trying to be relevant in a sport in which he no longer competes.

How, Mr. Haye-licker, does a "deep cut" require only SIX stitches? A child gets more than that for a scrape on the playground.

And I'm sure you probably think the "injury" that caused him to pull out of the Charr fight was legit, too? And you likely have cried over and over about his poor misfortune and puffed out your chest over Haye's extreme bravery in flopping around the canvas like a fish in the Klitsch-toe affair.

If this fight ever is rescheduled, please, please tell me that the local bookies post odds on it not coming off due to another Haye "injury" so I can place a wager and retire. The man is a scam artist or he's made of balsa wood.

    Ho hum.

Stitches in for about a week. Skin surface should be bonded in another week or two. Depending on depth of wound another week or two to be sure that the cut won't open again when the site is hit again.

The cut would bleed into the eye if it opens. Would you risk that in a multi million pound fight?

Maybe they do, but how many big PPV fights are called off 7 days before due to injuries sustained in sparring ?

It just doesn't happen. The reason it doesn't happen is because people involved in such big and important and lucrative events have a professional and responsible attitude to such matters of business.
Team Haye are looking like the exception.

We've seen inklings of their unprofessionalism before, and in the past some people have seeked to put the blame on some other party - the Klitschkos 'slave contracts', Setanta sports, Chelsea stadium, whoever - but this lastest fiasco confirms it.

For a guy who obviously wants nothing to do with stepping into the ring for an actual fight -- and who can do this, apparently, every few months and pick up more training expenses to pay his bills -- it makes perfect sense.

If it can't be made by the end of October I wouldn't even fool with the fight if I was Fury. He is a better position than Haye is for another meaningful fight. I would imagine either Klitschko would like to fight Fury soon.
