Discuss, and it is actually a question like, can he defeat every opponent he ever fought, like Marciano or Lewis defeated every opponent they fought.

The way the question is framed, you can legitimately answer yes, but most right thinking people should be answering "no".

I mean, he can lose to people like Joe Louis, but in a trilogy and 3 fight series he can pull it off. I mean, can he defeat anyone he ever fought, like Marciano and Lewis.

Both men at their best, no unforced gaffes, is there anyone you would favour over him ?

If there was ever one guy who could do it, it is Ali. Trilogies or tournaments would be quite helpful in this mission.

Berbick yes, since we're talking prime here. Holmes, yeah is see what you are saying, that is a nut that is about 1000 times harder to crack.
Homes is no ones sucker, Ali would definitely be on the top of his game any time he got in against Holmes.

I agree prime Holmes wouldn't be easy even for a prime Ali. I only posted because I was confused about what the op actually means. Ali pretty much did deafeat everyone he ever faced. The guy in the Holmes and Berbick "fights", I don't know if you can even still call him Ali (not the same boxer, I mean). So if that's what he meant, it's a rather strange question to ask.

Yeah, but you seem to ask whether he can be like Lewis or Rocky- to defeat every opponent he ever faced, that is.

Other than Holmes and Berbick, that's what he was actually :)

    Of course.

But that isn't much of a feat on it's own. Almost every heavyweight past and present have that possibility.
Because let's face it, if the chance in 1 in a million then there's still that one time they can beat that other person, whatever the reason of the win.

So this way of asking the question is too much open for interpretation.

I don't pretend ta be a historian, but over 15 rounds, with 8 ounce gloves, think Ali would look like Usain Bolt against other heavies.
