    Martin Murray, who hasn’t fought since pushing middleweight king Sergio Martinez all the way back in the spring, may head to Australia for a defence of his WBA interim title against Garth Wood. Murray Tweeted last night how he will face Woood, 12-3-1 (8) in Sydney if he can obtain a visa to travel. Murray has had visa issues in the past but he is hoping to go “down under” and fight Wood on November 30th. Wood is best known for upsetting Anthony Mundine by shock 5th round stoppage back in 2010. Murray says he wants bigger fights but he says also that he has no real alternatives to facing 35-year-old Wood at present.

    Oh he has one of those dumb belts. I had forgotten the WBA was still doing that nonsense at middleweight.

    Everyone seems to be leaving Hatton promotions and maybe they're just struggling with competition, but i can't help but feel Murray would be better off elsewhere too, even if he is Hatton's main fighter.

    his belt is worth only slightly more as the WBA international belt, so who cares if it's Woody Allen he fights next?

    ...against Navarro, but he no longer has it. GGG does.

    Golovkin vs. Rosado, Golovkin vs. Ishida, and Golovkin vs. Macklin were all for that same WBA interim 160lb belt, and Golovkin vs. Stevens will be as well...

    So Murray currently possesses nothing to defend...

    Murray vs. Wood is an okay tuneup rebounding from a loss, but would be a joke of a title bout. (even an interim title)

    Poorly researched article then; Murray no longer has the interim belt. Murray vs. Woods should be a 10-rounder should it happen.

    i kinda thought that too after they said he hasnt fought since sergio but defending his belt against wood

    Also Golovkin was defending the full WBA strap for the past year, not the interim trinket.
