Three people voted for Haye? Wow.

Charles could do everything. The level of boxing technical skills difference is huge. Charles would put on an absolute clinic. Haye would look like an amatuer.

That may be true but this is a H2H fight we are talking about. Charles is my favorite fighter of all-time but I'm not sure about this one.

Charles at his HW best was never more than 185 Lbs... actually, he was about 180 Lbs. He could have always made LHW throughout his reign as HW World Champ.

Haye is ripped at 6'3", a 78" reach, and 210-215 Lbs.

Haye is 2-3" taller, has a 4-5" longer reach, and is about 25-30 solid Lbs. heavier.

Charles is the better boxer, the faster boxer, and has the better footwork. Haye was down and out by Carl Thompson at CW but since that time his chin has looked above average. Charles took some good shots but he was stopped by Walcott and Marciano among others... most (maybe even all but one) of his stoppage losses came while he was past prime, one came before he peaked.

Haye is bigger, stronger, and punches harder. Is that enough?

I'll take Charles by close decision but I can't see him stopping Haye.

Haye has some good wins at HW but he doesn't fight often enough. Before he moved up to HW for good, he got credit for cleaning out the CW division. He has some good wins at CW but he gets a lot of credit with just a few quality wins. He beat an old Arthur Williams KO3, was stopped in 5 by Carl Thompson, then he beat Glen Kelly KO2 (who was better at LHW but never anything special), Alexander Gurov KO1 (this is when I started getting impressed), Giacobbe Fragomeni KO9, Jean Marc Mormeck KO7 (Haye was dropped in the 4th round), and Enzo Maccarinelli KO2.

At HW he has beat Monte Barrett KO5 (who had recently beat Tye Field KO1 and went on to draw with and beat David Tua by decision), Nikolay Valuev W12 (for the WBA HW World Title), John Ruiz KO9 (1st defense), Audley Harrison KO3 (2nd defense, Harrison really didn't deserve the title shot), he lost a clear decision to Wladimir Klitschko L12 (he was down in the 11th round), and he beat Dereck Chisora KO5 (Chisora had lost decisions to Tyson Fury, Robert Helenius, and Vitali Klitschko... none of them put him down but Haye put him down twice... Chisora has since beat Malik Scott, KO6). He's 6-1 (5) at HW and 3-1 (2) in HW World Title Fights. His only loss being to W. Klitschko... who he went the distance with and actually won a few rounds against. In the last 5 years he's only had 5 fights, that needs to change... he is almost 33 years old though.

Bottom line? Haye is good, but he needs to prove it by fighting more often and by fighting decent Heavyweights. It seems he is trying to make the most out of as little fights as possible. That's smart business but it doesn't do much for real boxing fans. Sometimes his attitude is a little hard to take as well.

If and when he ever fights and beats Tyson Fury, that would be a good win.

This is boxing...not a beauty contest. Haye can't fight on any level with Charles. Too many today talk about how ripped a fighter is or how big. No one talks about fighting heart, boxing skills....this is what boxing is all about. Fans today have been dumbed down and don't know what great boxing is all about.

Ezzard Charles was light years better than David Haye.

The stupid thing is that they do when it comes to Mayweather, but in the heavyweight division they tend to think that it is a body building contest.
