it needs to be a good fighter like thompson. fureys a level below haye and if he really wants to learn to beat him he`s got to start taking more dangerous live opponents. if he wants to be the world champ and not just cash a check he needs real learning fights! same for haye, he needs a good test/s to prep him for kiltshcko. fureys a good comeback fight but no test.. the plus is fureys a big guy, fighting cruisers isnt gonna get a win oit of klitschko.
Interested in what you say but don't agree that Furys a level below.I think Pulev would have been a tougher match and saw this one as 50 50,slightly favouring Fury.Think this could be a blessing in disguise.Think Fury should have his tune up,against somebody small and quick like Hamer, then Haye with a fair chance of winning, barring another pull out. After that,if successful I agree about Thompson, who Id expect him to beat. Then a big, orthodox boxer as similar to Wlad as possible.A few hurdles here, but ones that Fury is capable of clearing.By that time either Wlad,Povetkin,Pulev,Stiverne or Wilder will be champion.Theyll all be older than Fury, and hell have gained the experience to be competitive with any of them. I wouldn't like Haye to beat Fury, for the simple reason that I don't think Vitali wants him and neither does he want Wladimir again, whereas Fury will tackle anybody.
Is Mormeck still about? Still a bit of a name, former World Champ, put David Haye on the floor, has literally knocked one guy out in over a decade. But yeah, I wouldn't complain if he fought Tom Dallas. It's just a case of finding somebody he can knock over so he doesn't get bored waiting around for another five months.
Reckon it'd be disastrous for the loser,Sammy. If it was Fury, would knock him out of the ratings. But would almost certainly finish Dave as a top heavyweight.Personally I think its a great fight, but its one for the future hopefully.Somebody mentioned Tor Hamer.I don't think he's as dangerous as Price, but he's roughly the same size as Haye,is fast and young.****y and ambitious, fought here before. And I think Fury would do a job on him.
I'd play it very very safe, I like Fury but he's a knockout time-bomb waiting to happen and with the money on the line vs Haye they shouldn't take any risks. Team Fury have done tremendously to get in the position to get a great payday and are cashing in at the correct time, I really hope they get all that they deserve and Tyson avoids any big shock loss.
ahh now heres the thing, i think thompson stands a good chance of beating him, he`s also a known quantity and if furey did beat him, it`d increase his chances against haye. (and his credibilty) i think he had a great tune up fight via cunningham, at the time a haye fight was unlikely and again my thoughts were wtf are you fighting little guys when you want to fight a real superheavy for the title.. i think its a shame but understandable that haye didnt fight harder fights to get his title shot, i like a proper warrior fighter like most, but i happen to think on his day he is one of the most exciting fighters out there.. he went up to heavyweight with a plan to get a title shot against klitchko and got it. i dont think he has aspirations of being an all time great, just great lol theres a few fighters on here greatly disliked by equally big factions, but they all get talked about.. haye is one of them and still the man to beat, K2 aside... hayes inactivity is a worrying factor for me regarding furey, but my gut instinct is that hayes confidence is based on a calculated decision not arrogance. the uncertainty and the wild card nature of furey is what makes it interesting.. the only thing i`d disagree with what you said is that i dont think furey is ready to fight anyone.. i think he`s been very skillfully matched so far and as frustrating as that is, on many levels i dont blame him.. forum credibilty doesnt put pounds in the bank..
What about Sprott he's just been sparring him for Haye so the connections are in place for it to be made and he's a decent enough name to sell the fight to Channel 5, or possibly Seth Mitchell or Banks to get a bit more exposure in the states.
That,I think, would have been a really good fight for Fury INSTEAD of the Haye match, and one I think he could have won and advanced him a bit farther.Ironically,I always fancied Haye truing to avenge his amateur defeat, but it looks like that won't ever happen.Cant see Furys team taking a risk with a man of Solis class with the chance of the Haye match coming off, though it could be good if he wins this.
Wouldn't like it to be Michael,Walter, for the same reason as Tom Dallas.Mismatch,I think,as he's been a great pro but past his best. The other 2 maybe too good for tuneups. Both would be tough fights for Haye,so I think Fury needs an easier tuneup somewhere between them and Michael and Tom in ability.
