Liston's significant weight and strength advantage + not really being the slower man or lighter puncher would eventually tell on Marciano imo.

I don't think you can beat liston with an aggressive brawling approach while under those drawbacks.

Then why could they not keep him on his ass or drop him a second time?.
Those kd's were more a blunder on The Rocks part on both time he rose up immediately unhurt.

Blunders? I'm sure no one gets dropped on purpose. And I'm sure Walcott and Moore also had a bit of skill and power, just a bit.

I am also sure that Liston had more power than the guys who dropped Marciano. So, perhaps, he might be more than a bit dazed.

So, go ahead and twist my flattering estimation of Marciano in this match-up to be something negative. It will amuse me greatly.

Liston was a better boxer ,at least equal in power , had height ,weight and reach advantages. Marciano said he was buzzed by Moore's shot and ringside reporters thought he was hurt.

Rocky was hurt enough to forget there was no compulsory 8 count in world title fights.
After being dropped for 4 he turned away when he arose expecting the ref to continue counting.
That's a 42 years old LHVY putting him on the floor, you don't think Liston could do the same?

    Is that right? You sure?

Can you tell me then, how many levels below Oscar De La Hoya is Shane Mosley? In their second fight, won by Mosley, of course, Shane's connect percentage according to Punchstats for the jab, was 12%.

Or around a third of what you are pretending is a bad connect rate for Liston.

How many levels below Cotto in terms of talent is Floyd Mayweather? He managed a paltry 17% of jabs against Miguel. If Liston's connect percentage of 33% (your approximate number) tells us so much about his jab, what does this pitiful number tell us about Mayweather and Mosley?

Possibly the two best jabs of the modern era.

Choklab: stop repeating this stat like it's real or sense. You're making up nonsense and it's nonsense you've already been spanked about.

He didn't look hurt to me. Elite fighters can sense if they have a guy hurt. Neither man went for the kill.

Momentary lapse of concentration. Once he woke up , neither men came close to repeating it again.
2 tonne Tony had less skill than Wlacotts left ball, yet put Louis on his ass. Louis, just like Marciano, got up with a feeling of embarrassment more than anything before dishing out a savaging.
Going down isn't a gauge to measure how bad a guy is hurt. Many guys reacted worse to shot and remained on their feet.
Recently ,Tyson Fury was bowled over yet got up , kept coming forward and grew stronger as the rounds went on.
Chisora was hurt bad , stayed on his feet but had to get on his bike for a peroid to recover.

Marciano says different who should we believe him ,or you?
Moore complained till he died that the referee obstructed him from following up on the punch.

"Rocky was down on one knee with both gloves braced against the floor, he didnt hear the count but got up instinctively at three. He seemed to stare out over the crowd as he walked towqrds the ropes.

The roar of the crowd swelled Moore's breast with the pride of a champion. He wanted to charge Rocky and go for the knockout.
But referee Harry Kessler, caught up in the excitement of the moment continued counting. He had reached five before he realised his mistake and stopped, for in a championship bout the count ends once the fighter is on his feet."

"Moore was enraged in writng his autobiography Archie called the chapter on his fight with Marciano ,"Fouled".
He claimed the referee cost him his big chance at the ring's greatest prize , by not allowing him to go after Marciano immediately"

    Everett M Skehan ."Rocky Marciano"

    Possibly.

Another possibility is that Rocky's conditioning and heart were superior to Sonny's and see him to a decision or a even quittage on Sonny's part.

Depends on which Sonny shows up.

Minter had a great chin and Hagler destroyed him ... I actually see the fight very similar to that one ... and who did Rocky ever fight that hit with Liston's caliber of power ?
