There was no strategy adjustment. Klimov was in a deep hole (obviously getting shut out) and lacked the power to get a miracle last-round KO against someone whose chin is yet to be questioned and who is slick, talented, and still looking full of **** and vinegar in the late going. There was no advice to be given, by anyone. The day was lost.

He basically was taking a humanistic approach, telling Klimov he should go for the KO not because there was even a remote chance of him getting it but to save face and be able to look back on this without feeling immense shame. He was trying to help coax the guy into going out like a man, probably knowing full well he would be sending him into certain doom via knockout...and it's probably among the few times where a trainer is ever right to do that.

When Klimov is bouncing his grandkids on his knee, is he going to want to mention his tepid "assault" in that last three minutes? (although, to be fair, he did rise to his trainer's challenge to a degree and get more aggressive than he was in the first nine...it was still a weak and pathetic effort...)

    Well, no ****.

He's years past his expiration date already to be honest.

One of my favorite fighters, but honestly I can hardly stand to watch him fight anymore.

He's hasn't beaten a really good peak fighter in like 4 years... well.. if you considering a tough fight against Clottey as a great win. I don't really, but you could argue it is.

..but yeah.. Foreman, Mayorga, and Shot Marg means nothing.. and having a decent showing against Floyd doesn't mean much.. and getting made to look stupid by Trout.

    Yeah.. bad.

They were sporadic and not THAT loud compared to how lively the crowds been tonight. Ive heard much louder boo'ing for less than that.

    Or should I say more.

Yeah, that's what I don't think some people realized heading in...huge Dominican and Puertio Rican communities down there. (although neither obviously as big as the Cuban ex-pat community)

    Both will have crowd support.
