Quigg did well last night, a bit tentative at the beginning but its to be expected against a tricky well schooled Cuban. He will have learnt a lot last night and fights like this are needed for him, Monroe barley landed a punch on him so its about time he had some competitive fights to learn his trade at the top level. It's very hard to look good against a fighter like salinas and I think he did enough to get the nod, if he fights Martinez he will look a lot better i reckon and will get a late stoppage

Yeah it was a history making fight in more ways than 1, the first ever co produced Sky and Boixnation PPV fight. Special moment that will be remembered for ever. I shed a tear at the end. God bless British Boxing.:rofl

For whatever reason, Salinas stopped jabbing half way through the fight when he was in total control and basically threw away the fight. As long you keep Quigg on the outside, you've got him.

Co-productions, we need this. I look forward to the threads stating £10 a month for 6 rounds is a bargain compared to £15 on sky box office. Of course sky will have the last 6 and a better undercard...

The only thing I can see going wrong is the 10 min break in the middle to allow for sky's over the top hype/build up. And the fact that Kugie-bear will be accused of unbelievable bias due to only being able to interview the matchroom boxer.

Maybe it's not that easy to keep him on the outside and that's the reason

Quigg isn't no world champion! Rigo is the man. He should be a shamed if he even thinks he is!

:deal, Quigg and Sky kept mentioning how Quigg is a Real World Champion now. They never once mentioned that he only won the "regular belt". Its false advertising but the casuals will lap it up and will want to continue watching a "World Champion".:yep

I think people go overboard on Frampton to be honest, he would have struggled against Salinas, he will be easy to outbox once he steps in with someone like Salinas.

Good points by Clark81 and Sharpy. What ye both say makes sense to me. My 2 cents worth is that in fairness to Quigg ANYONE can be forgiven for struggling with Salinas. Well schooled, tight defence and excellent jab. Tough too. Better than a lot of people expected.
Perhaps Quigg does not hit quite as hard as we thought? Also Quigg was a sitting duck for Salinas jab. Quigg seems a bit slow to work things out, change plans when what he is doing is not working etc, He will need to respond quicker in future.

All in all a very good solid performance by Quigg, but I dont think Frampton lost much sleep last night.
